Three Tune Tuesday with Berlin / Re-blog lottery!

Here we are again with Three Tune Tuesday! Thanks @ablaze for sponsoring and starting the weekly event. I've always been a big fan of metal bands, but I've always had some other bands that I've always enjoyed. Last week @slobberchops posted the band Berlin in one of his posts inspiring the pick today. Berlin is a band I always liked in the early 1980's. When most people think of the band Berlin they think of "Take My Breath Away" featured in the movie "Top Gun", but they were much, much more than that song!

The band formed in Los Angeles featuring Teri Nunn as the very beautiful front woman and John Crawford on bass guitar. The two of them were the stable members of the group as there were several lineup changes though the years. In 1979 they released their first album with not a lot of success. Nunn left the band to pursue an acting career after the lackluster debut but rejoined in 1980 when she was enticed by promising new music.

They recorded the album "Pleasure Victim" in 1982 on a budget of $2,900 US, pretty much a shoe string budget. It quickly gave rise to mainstream success. Their follow up album "Love Life also performed well on the charts. The band was eventually approached by producers of "Top Gun" to sing a song written for movie known as "Take My Breath Away". This recording became by far their biggest hit and was included on their 1986 album "Count Three And Pray" launching incredible album sales. It was the first song that they recorded that wasn't their own writing and caused dissention among band members and the eventual breakup of the group. I guess it always comes down to creative differences in the end...

The first song today comes off the album "Love Life". Here's: No More Words

Next up I wanted to bring in some of their early songs and their first real hit. It comes off of the record "Pleasure Victim", this is : The Metro

Last up also comes off of "Pleasure Victim" a song called: Masquerade

Now for a bonus track I thought I would throw in a song off of "Pleasure Victim" that was banned by many radio stations for having lyrics that were too graphic. Times have sure changed since 1982... This is: Sex (I'm a)

I hope you enjoyed my Three Tune Tuesday picks. I had fun putting it together! If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions please feel free to leave them below. Thank you for the support and stopping by!

I've become more of a hard rock/ metal kind of guy over the years. But Teri Nunn sure looked good! The re-blog has become more popular and chances have decreased I agree, I'm thinking of adding a second prize daily to help out. I will let you all know in the next few days!

Yea, no problem at all, was just a remark that it got more popular. Don't want to suggest you to split the prize / add a second prize.
I am already grateful for everything you already gave away / do for this community! <3

Random useless fact of the day…

Dana White’s first concert ever was Berlin… he just mentioned it on a podcast last week 😂 random facts nobody needed😂

Seriously though good picks!

I swear if I was born sooner I’d of been a new wave kid in the eighties 🎹🎸

Interesting fact! Thanks, Berlin definitely embraced the new wave movement, it was a lot of cool music. You would have loved the eighties!

I really hadn't thought about Berlin in ages, but he got the song "Like Flames" stuck in my head.

The “ air play” since 1982 certainly has changed my friend!🙄
We just watched the newer version of top gun recently, now I need to go back and try to find that song “ You take my breath away”😀

It was definitely a huge song in eighty six! I liked the new Top Gun, very well done movie. I expect to see a Maverick part three in the next couple years. They made so much money it's inevitable! 😅

That would be awesome, I would love to see a top gun three!🤗
Very powerful aircraft, capable of extreme G’s and instantaneous and fast maneuvers !😀

Believe me or not, I had absolutely no idea about this band existence, not even heard the name - not speaking of their music. Guess they arent getting any airplay since the 80-es have passed. Intresting band with typical 80-es sound and giving a strong reminiscence with Blondie... probably they completely belong to their epoch, now their sound does not appeal, one isnt feeling enchanted discovering their songs. !LUV and !PIZZA as an extra.

They were in the synthesizer movement of the early eighties that came out of Europe. These days I'm more a metal guy, but they did have their day. The early eighties was heavy in the synthesizer, by the mid eighties that all changed with glam rockers like Guns N Roses and Bon Jovi. Thanks for the tips!

Finlamd (Karelia) has a nice wild nature, and RUssia... well, it has pretty different area (due to its size). Two capitals (current and emperial, historical) has a lot of museums and palaces, worth to look if you are fond of architecture. and we have !PIZZA.... ofc its not as good as in Italy :P

A lot of this is new to younger generations like you, but they influence music to this day. You still here remakes of "Take My Breath Away", but I still think Teri Nunn did a better job even though her vocal range wasn't as good as many singers today.

Hi! I'm back to !PIMP your post lol.
I feel reasonable (not 100% yet though) today and had quite a productive and active day so far and it's not even evening yet.

How are you today?

Surviving... I wish I were 25 again though.... How was your day today? It must be coming up on evening. Overall I'm feeling pretty good, just hoping that it stays this way. How's your little one doing?

Hear hear! Although I have to say some change was made here, I'm somehow able to be very active the past days even though I felt like CRAP yesterday. Today it's better (I went out anyway) but not fully back to normal, my throat is a pain still.

The little one is also still coughing but hasn't missed a day school, so it's not that bad. She right through, sigh, she's young! haha

Glad you're overall feeling is good, let's keep it that way :)

I'm glad you're feeling better. How is today going? I just got up, hopefully the old body will be cooperative!

Being young can make you much tougher and heal faster!

Yes young is definitely great for fast healing. I can only do what I'm doing now I guess, be more active (check, check) and pay attention to what I eat and I have to say, currently it's going well so.. Looking back, that old home made me rustier than ever and I really have to shake that stuff off now. So far so good. It surely helps that it's almost December and I can still wear a t shirt outside and enjoy some sun :)

Have to gather some stuff now as tomorrow I'm going to see if I can get the kid into the school nearby. Fingers crossed!
