Den Song "We Didn’t Start The Fire" von Billy Joel hatte ich ja schon einmal in einem Blog-Artikel vor zehn Tagen behandelt. Damals hatte Leo Moracchioli aus Norwegen eine Cover-Version veröffentlicht. Jetzt hat Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq aus Bedford nachgelegt und ein Ukulelen-Cover produziert:
Das Video gehört zur neuen Folge seines YouTube-Formats "Should I/Can I Cover It", in dem er die Songs, von denen er Cover-Versionen erstellt, zunächst gründlich analysiert, bevor er sich an seiner Akustik-Version versucht. Wobei er in diesem Fall wahrscheinlich gar nicht weiß, dass es da schon lange eine starke Konkurrenz für den deutschsprachigen Raum gibt. Schon Mitte der 1990er Jahre hatte nämlich Otto Waalkes sein Gitarren-Cover veröffentlicht:
