Cuando el amor es dificil, la gente desiste y busca otras opciones. Aquí no, esta obra te habla de perseverancia, determinación, sacrificio, donde cualquiera huiría “cuando las cosas se ponen feas”, Nanjo e Izumi atraviesan la desesperación misma para alcanzarse (aunque no de mutuo acuerdo ni recíprocamente al principio). Aquí conocí el concepto de la persona predestinada pero no del tipo “Disney”.

When love is difficult, people give up and look for other options. Not here, this play is about perseverance, determination, sacrifice, where anyone would run away "when the going gets tough", Nanjo and Izumi go through desperation itself to reach each other (although not mutually and reciprocally at first). Here I met the concept of the fated person but not the "Disney" kind.

“¿Y qué tal la OST?” - La franquicia de esta obra cuenta con una serie de videos musicales y canciones que hacen a uno de los protagonistas que es cantante, Nanjo Koji, mucho más real de lo que esperarías... y sin importar la canción que escojas escuchar primero, es una experiencia que difícilmente te dejara indiferente: Algunos videos te presentan “universos alternos” o “versiones de los protagonistas en otros mundos, otros roles y otras circunstancias”, siempre uno más cuestionable que otro, pero vale la pena prestar atencion a las letras porque si las unes a todo el resto del material, podrás entender mejor cómo se sienten los personajes en tópicos no explícitos en el manga o la adaptación animada.

"How about the OST?" - The franchise of this work features a series of music videos and songs that make one of the protagonists who is a singer, Nanjo Koji, much more real than you'd expect... and no matter which song you choose to listen to first, it's an experience that's unlikely to leave you indifferent: Some videos present you with "alternate universes" or "versions of the protagonists in other worlds, other roles and other circumstances", always one more questionable than the other, but the lyrics are worth paying attention to because if you put them together with all the other material, you can better understand how the characters feel about topics not explicit in the manga or anime adaptation.

Hablando del apartado gráfico, el estilo de la autora ha sido siempre admirado y halagado dentro y fuera de Japón; es muy representativo, exagerado, y dramático, al sol de hoy sus dibujos y portadas siguen siendo mis ilustraciones favoritas y mi mayor influencia junto al estilo de las CLAMP. Aquí no encontraras cuerpos proporcionados y un dibujo “lindo”, "Zetsuai" y "Bronze" rompe con muchos canon de estética y el respeto a las proporciones tradicionales es casi inexistente, y creo que es lo que más me gusta porque la misma mangaka escribió y habló sobre su lucha por sentir que no lograba expresar lo que sentía a través de sus dibujos, pero no por eso dejaría de esforzarse y de dibujar... de verdad creo que eso es admirable, la autora es una persona que siente con mucha intensidad.

Talking about the graphic section, the author's style has always been admired and praised inside and outside Japan; it is very representative, exaggerated, and dramatic, to this day her drawings and covers are still my favorite illustrations and my biggest influence next to the style of the CLAMP. Here you won't find proportioned bodies and a "cute" drawing, "Zetsuai" and "Bronze" break with many aesthetic canons and the respect for traditional proportions is almost nonexistent, and I think that's what I like the most because the mangaka herself wrote and talked about her struggle for feeling that she couldn't express what she felt through her drawings, but not for that she would stop making an effort and drawing... I really think that's admirable, the author is a person who feels very intensely.

"¿Por qué hablar hoy de Zetsuai y Bronze?" – En la nueva web de Minami Ozaki me he enterado que desde hace no mucho se puede adquirir toda la colección de sus mangas en formato digital. Y también, bueno, mi mundo como fan se ha tambaleado porque desconocía la existencia de un material poderosísimo: La misma Minami Ozaki cantando las canciones de Koji, interpretándolo como si fuera el mismo personaje. Simplemente he perdido la cabeza y tengo de nuevo 16 años.

"Why talk about Zetsuai and Bronze today?" - On Minami Ozaki's new website I found out that since not long ago you can buy the entire collection of her manga in digital format. And also, well, my world as a fan has been rocked because I was unaware of the existence of a very powerful material: Minami Ozaki herself singing Koji's songs, interpreting him as if he were the same character. I've simply lost my mind and I'm 16 years old again.

Me pregunto si en el futuro tendremos una adaptación al anime o un remake de las ovas (todavía no superamos la decepción con la inconclusa Ai No Kusabi, pero soñar es gratis); es difícil superar este tipo de historias cuando conoces parte de la historia personal de la autora, como que de joven era muy rebelde y de carácter complicado, y sobrevivió a un episodio de violencia con su novio de la época escolar,... escena que ella recrea en su obra más de una vez.

I wonder if in the future we will have an anime adaptation or a remake of the ovas (we still don't get over the disappointment with the unfinished Ai No Kusabi, but dreaming is free); it's hard to get over this kind of stories when you know part of the author's personal history, like that as a young girl she was very rebellious and complicated character, and survived a violent episode with her school-age boyfriend,... scene that she recreates in her work more than once.
