There are so many ways that God is portrayed in the Bible and all of them are important to me.
God on the throne to balance all scales helps me when I see evil people seeming to flourish in the world.
God the shepherd who hunts for his lost sheep if important to me when I worry about whether my children will find their way.
God the father who helps but also trains his children is the most personally meaningful to me because it reminds me I belong to him and his family. I may be chastised or put through trials at times but he does so to strengthen me and prepare me as I become the man I am supposed to be.
God the sculptor who creates beautiful things.
God the provider who gives all good things.
God the healer who mends the broken.
The list goes on and on. Take your pick. But I always remember that he is more than we could ever imagine and each view is but a tiny glimpse of his true self.
Our God is indescribable.
