Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

Yesterday @fionasfavourites and I were engaging on Exploding mercury and she finished play a wonderful song from a very talented musician whom I am sure some of you will know!

The lady in question?

It's an Annie Lennox #ttt

Annie Lennox - Why

For me this is one of the most powerful songs of all time from any artist or band.

The lyrics, damn, I am sure they are so relatable for couples at some point in a relationship.

It might be 31 years old and from Diva album which was the same album that Walking on Broken Glass was from that @fionasfavourites played yesterday on her post.

The album Diva was released in 92 and her first album after leaving the great band Eurythmics.

Annie Lennox was born and bred in Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland. Another reason for playing her today is that Aberdeen is also big Tartan Army country. That is what the Scottish national football team is called.

They qualified for the Euros in Germany at the weekend.

Annie Lennox - No More "I Love You's"

We jump to 6 March 95 now and her second album Medusa.

I will never forget the date as I was down in London working, and got a phone call from my mother. My sister had given birth to a babygirl. Nobody even knew she was pregnant!

So a whisky or two ensued that night I tell you.

The video makes me chuckle as it reminds me of the time I played five a side football for charity dressed in a mini skirt stockings garters complete with stuffed bra!

… I used to be a lunatic from the gracious days

That I was!!!

But seriously damn those lyrics! So powerful even today!

I have to show you this from the youtube comments

I turned 71 years old last month. I've saved this video for quite some time and play it frequently. Today I'm sitting here and not only feeling the vibes but .... I closed my eyes and remembered a time when I was that young. Guys/Gals ... enjoy living. We all go through ups and downs, but in the end it's all about how you feel about yourself. I love being young. I'm not 100. LOL.

I bolded one outstanding line in the comment which applies to anyone no matter their age!

Fast forward nine years to 2014

Annie Lennox - I Put A Spell On You

The album is Nostalgia, the singer the one and only Annie Lennox. If this does not showcase her voice her auro her power then I have no idea what will.

The lyrics, yet again simply amazing...

I put a spell on you
Because you're mine

I have had the fortune to see her 4 times over the years. Once in The Tourists once in Eurythmics when they did a Hogmanay bash in Aberdeen with Big Country and twice as Annie Lennox.

There you go @deraaa been a long time since I showcased some powerful pertinent old man tunes for you!

That was so fun to compile and there are just loads and loads of songs that could be in here!

I hope that you enjoyed these Annie Lennox tunes.

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

First song definitely has a slow burn to it and the lyrics are pure gold. Well to me. It is so apt. So on point with reality…

Okay. First. The second one is the original of Nicki’s Your Love?! Wow! You will see what a wonderful coincidence this is. And I think I have heard this No More I Love Yous’s somewhere as a cover. This song is so heartbreakingly warm.

Oh wow! That third tune is a blast!!! I think I’ve heard it in a movie once! Wooohoo! This is seductive. The Rock rhythm with the opera vibes. And that voice! Yep! I love number 3!

Number 3 did it! Damn! Hear that song!!! Adding to my playlist!

Annie always freaked me out a little bit, but the voice is undeniable. That's a funny story about the five sided football. What does that even look like? The football, not the skirt!

Fun songs today! I like No More I Love You's the best of the bunch. It's been awhile since I heard here sing! Four times in concert, pretty cool! Not as cool as Sade buying you a drink though!
