Hello Hello to all you music-loving Hivians
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
@ablaze started #ttt 116 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post Ben Rector for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 116 - 10 HBI shares to be won!
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the TEN sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

I was watching a tv show when I heard Vienna come on the radio on the tv show and I thought Aha let's do Ultravox!
And so this weeks ttt post was born!
Ultravox - Vienna
The band in question I like to call Ultravox 2.0
The reason being that prior to Midge Ure, Ultravox had been around as Ultravox! for about six years I think. They basically had given up, but Midge joined and this was probably their biggest hit from the album by the same name Vienna!
Ultravox - All Stood Still
I do prefer All Stood Still to Vienna.
So where did name Midge Ure come from?
His real name was Jim and as he was in a band with another Jim, his name was turned backwards and Jim became Mij, and being Scottish and have loads of midges on the West where he was from Midge was born. Ure is a common enough surname.
Ultravox - Visions In Blue
Midge Ure was a bit of a workaholic.
At the same time as being the lead vocalist on Ultravox he was writing songs for Thin Lizzy and playing with Steve Strange in Visage.
Then he went on tour with Thin Lizzy then on tour with Ultravox.
He along with Bog Geldof was heavily involved in Band Aid
I hope that you enjoyed these Ultravox tunes.
Which was your favourite (if any) ?
Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶
Thanks for visiting and I wish you all a terrific rest of your Tuesday.
PS Happy 77th Independence Day to all our Indian Hivians!

I can see why you like All Stood Still. It has that summery vibe to it just like you. I was trying to understand the whole Vienna set up and what it meant. But my favorite has to be Visions In Blue. The whole vibe is me and it had me by the hook. For some reason I also got to enjoy his voice better. Pretty much kicked up but still chill enough for me to give it my own gloom 😂
if i have to pic froim the 3 you posted it would be Vienna , other wise it would be the one i posted :)
He kind of reminds me a bit of Freddie Mercury. I have never heard of this band before, but they are pretty interesting. They leaned really heavy into the electronic stuff I see. I guess that was the time back then though!
I love Ultravox, fantastic band! Those are some great choices. Good memories!
!DHEDGE
Yeah they were pretty cool!
Don't they still do occasional shows? It seems like I saw them as part of a reunion tour some time back
I have never heard of this band before. I think that of the three songs, I like the second one the most, Super Ed.
Heh, neat story about how he got his stage name. I like it!
I've heard some of the names you mention in the post, but don't seem to have heard Ultravox before. Sometimes I wonder if I've lived my life under a rock.
Of the three, Visions in Blue was my favourite.
Ah well as much as we like music, there is no way we can have heard of everybody, especially if they are not from our own country hehe but yeah Visions in Blue is a pretty cool tune.
OMG OMG nightowl! I always loved Ultravox and Vienna is such a great song.
Just found something newer I also really like: "rise"

Nice man, that's all news to me and interesting to know. I love Thin Lizzy and to be honest, although I recognise the songs, if you asked me earlier by just playing them who sang them, no way would I have been able to tell you Ultravox.
What is the rest of their back catalogue like? Are they worth checking out and any album in particular? Vienna is the pick of the bunch for me, great tune.
