The Manics on ttt 166 cheers Re-Pete

Tuesday for me on Hive means three tune tuesday...

It's Tuesday and of course that means it's inspiration time!!

After the events of last week there was only one band that I could post today and that is the Manic Street Preachers for reasons which will become apparant.

I thought I had posted a ttt about them before but after a search I discovered that I only used one of their songs in It Takes Two To Tengo but you need three for ttt. The song in question was The Masses Against The Classes so we shall skip that one.

It is not as if we are short on choice!

This post is dedicated to my co-brother-in-law, till we meet again Re-Pete ...

Today, I bring you .... Three tunes from Manic Street Preachers

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

@ablaze started #ttt 166 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post Galway songs for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 165 - win 12 HBI

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the TWELVE sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

Mrs T's brother-in-law was a bit of an old school punk and in the post punkera he loved the Manic Street Preachers who were formed in 1986 in Wales.

So he came up to Edinburgh to stay for a few days in May 2009 when we all went to see the Manics perform at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh.

I have chosen arguably their three most favourite songs amongst fans as well as the band themselves.

In memory of my brother-in-law who passed away suddenly last week I have included three live recordings, where I can imagine him being back in the moshpit pogoing like a fluffing nutter.

Today is just a day to enjoy the music.

I hope that you enjoyed these Manic Street Preachers tunes.

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

Wow. That first tune has some kind of modern pop despite the soft rock. Or am I hearing it wrong? Wait! One of the guitarist wearing a skirt? A girl? Oh I see now. A lady

Oh Kay now I’m confused. Looks like a man in the second one. Nice tune. Reminds me of one of my favorite indie songs

If I told you I heard not a single word of what they are saying would you believe me? 🤣 it’s like listening to FrenGlish 😂😂😂

The second one I like better. Maybe because it has some similarities to that song or maybe it’s just my head

NO it is a guy, they were one of the first groups to dress like women at times. In fact one of them went missing in the 90s and still is missing, and I think the whole trans thing could be todo with it.

The second would be my favourite too over the first one though. The last one is when the band got a lot of flak for wearing a balaclave like that, as that is what the IRA terrorists wore in Northern Ireland.

Ohhhh my God! I didn’t know that! So they are still missing? That’s sad. And I honestly thought it was a girl. So he was a Drag Queen? Or is that what they called it? lol

Ah yes they were one of the first with the Trans/Queer thing before it became and normal and now to the point where it seems if you are not then there is something wrong with you.
World gone fluffing mad

This is some Rock music and with that kind of crowd, they sure do have a lot of fans.
I prefer the second music because it's mellower... 😁

I need to dig into this band a bit more. I only know their cover of "Can't Take my Eyes Off You". They did a really great job with that one!

They were pretty big here in the 90s and 00s and got a very distinctive vocals.

They are pretty good, I had never heard of them until now! They had some good music and have been around for a long time as I found out on Wikipedia. Cool band!
