Hello Hello to all you wonderful Hivians

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

@ablaze started #ttt 133 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post Songs from Shane McGowan's Funeral for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 133 - 10 HBI shares to be won!

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the TEN sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

I love getting my inspiration from different places. Recently I was in a garden centre and saw these heather plants.

Normally you see heather on the moors with grouse nipping in and out or haggis running round in ever decreasing circles.

But the heather well it is a purple colour too, or you get white heather, it is deemed lucky!

But look at those colours .... Blue I love it!

Well I was looking for Christmas plants.

I got none but it has prompted me to post a ttt on Scottish Christmas songs!

Well today we having Scottish Christmas ttt part 1.

Deacon Blue - You'll Know It's Christmas

We kick off with You'll Know It's Christmas from those Glaswegian pop rockers Deacon Bluereleased in 2013.

Fun fact about Deacon Blue they took their name from the 1977 Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues"

Cocteau Twins - Frosty The Snowman

Not sure if you have this classic on your playlist or have heard it.

It was released Chistmas 1993 that is 30 years ago!

The Cocteau Twins are from Grangemouth in Scotland which was and still is the home to Scotlands biggest refinery owned and operated by Ineos.

If you see my beach posts I often put ships in there that are either coming or going up the Firth of Forth to Grangemouth.

Hammerblow news is that it is being closed in a couple of years.

Bay City Rollers starring Les McKeown -Rock'N'Roll Its Christmas Time

Back in the day the Bay City Rollers from PrestonpPans were quite the heart throbs and teen idols!

They were massive in the 70s and shouldhave earned millions but their recording company ripped them off.
Onetragedy after another befell them and their leadsinger from those teen idol years Les McKeown died in London during Covid and his funeral was only attended by 30 people.

I hope that you enjoyed these Scottish Christmas songs.

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

I am so lucky to be Scottish and to have never heard any of these three howlers before. You are giving us a bad name here Ed - people are going to think the Christmas is Scotland is pants !

On a serious note, have you heard the new tune 'Free' from Awkward Marina ? I'm sure I heard of her first in one of your #ttt posts. That new song is great - just released in the last month or so - its pretty awesome.

My wife is from Bay City. We lived there for a short time when we first got married. There is a museum there and they have some stuff on the Rollers and how it was pure chance that they came up with the name.

But what beautiful songs. Christmas without a doubt arrives at the end of the year with its own musical repertoire hehehe how magical.

Wow! Deacon Blue and the Bay City Rollers...

Didn't know any of those. You did know that a South African, Duncan Faure, was a member of the Bay City Rollers? You should check out his band, Rabbit. Anotherof their members, Trevor Rabin went on to join Yes. He was the brains behind

Did not know that the Cocteau Twins did a cover of Frosty the Snowman... which has immediately been added to my playlist of "alt Christmas music!"

I've only really heard Deacon Blue before, but all three are great. Sad to hear that such a good music artist died and was for the most part forgotten. Only thirty people came to his funeral...

Your Scottish Christmas tunes got me in a festive mood, especially Deacon Blue's "You'll Know It's Christmas." It's amazing how music can transport us to different times and places.
