No No No SBC 17 TTT 230

Hello Hello to all Hivians, Silver Bloggers, music fans and anyone else reading this.

So we have a ttt mixed up with a silver bloggers chronicle today! A 2 for 1 !

Firstly we have a silver bloggers chronicles which then inspires the ttt or threetunetuesday that follows it!

This week's The Silver Bloggers Chronicles - Prompt 17 is ....

Tattoo me this - Tattoo me that...

What about you? Do you have a tattoo and what's the story behind it...

image.png

The short and long answer is NO!

Thank you Silver Fish @mondoshawan for this prompt!

I graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree. It was to a design house I went and suits were the order of the day, or at the very least a shirt and tie.

No fluffing way were tattoos appropriate and in fact you would not even get the job.

There were a few girls with the tramp stamp on the back above their butt but none of the girls in our company. Even when I worked in London for Bechtel tattoos were still a nono.

Later on first Mrs T wanted one with her best fried. They got identical little celtic crosses on their shoulder blades.

One reason I could never imagine having one was the thought of some 80 year old wifey with saggy skin and a baufin tattoo!

The other main reason why I never got one when they became trendy was one night I was on a river cruise. It was my birthday and Mrs T and my parents who we had taken on the cruise went to bed early. Well I was all dolled up in a suit and wanted to party! So off I went into the bright lights of Potsdam as we had moored there to see Berlin the next day. I was half pished already and went staggering off on my own and god only knows where I ended up. It was some seedy wee dive of a place. Everyone was brilliant and we were knocking back German spirits like they were going out of fashion. I was asking about communism and what they all felt. Then it got onto the war. Maybe being Scottish and brazen with drink, but my German was flowing in my head. Then one older man who was matching us drink for drink rolled up his sleeve and showed me a faded tattoo that was numbers and started with an A. It transpired that he had been in Auschwitz and was made to do forced labour. That was what actually saved him.

I was utterly gobsmacked, I mean what could you say. I have stared death in the face and talked myself out of it. But what was done to them, it was horrific. And now what I see happening. When will humans learn to get along with each other.

I digress, so yeah tattoos are not for me.

So it is a No No No from me....

Which leads me nicely into part 2 of this post ....

But first some of the lyrics from tune number 3 ...

It's a thrill of a lifetime, it's like a dream come true I'm goin' downtown, I'm gonna get a tattoo So when I fly my colours, red, green, and black, I know it's gonna stay there 'cos I can't give it back, no sir
No one ever told me and no one even tried and when my Mama found out, She broke down and cried
No tattoos, gotta stay cool, my Mama never raised no fool

No tattoos, gotta stay cool, my Mama never raised no fool .... who recognises the song?

Haha yeah my mother would have fluffing freaked out 🤣

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

@ablaze started #ttt 230 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post [Tom Waits (Nighthawks at the Diner) for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 229 - win some HBI](https://peakd.com/hive-193816/@ablaze/tom-waits-nighthawks-at-the-diner-for-three-tune-tuesday-week-229-win-some-hbi

There could only be one no no no tune to kick off ttt230....

Tune 1 - Dawn Penn - No, No No

The version that became a worldwide hit was a re-recording released in 1994. (She had originally recorded a different version in 1967.)

image.png

Tune 2 - Destiny's Child - No, No, No Part 2 ft. Wyclef Jean

On we move three years later to 1997 and when this group formed!

I am sure you all know Destiny's Child.. This was the Original Quartet (1997–2000) of:
Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, LeToya Luckett

That really was some group and of course the one and only Beyoncé went on to even greater things!

image.png

We finish up with a fun catchy number about ... yes ... no tattoos!

Tune 3 - Andy Curran - No Tattoos

I love the lyrics and I think a fun catchy tune from way back in 1990 by the Canadian artist Andy Curran

image.png

So there you have it — my three picks for a very strange "No Tattoo" kind of week.

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of any of them?!?

What tunes are you sharing this Tuesday? Let me know in the comments below!

image.png

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!

My previous Chronicles ... are :-
1 Colour | 2 Joy | 3 Hometown | 4 Wheels | 6 Memory recipe | 7 summer holidays | 8 Moves | 9 back in time | 10 Life of an Object | 11 Childhood friend | 12 Childhood toys | 13 Autumn Solstice | 14 Unforgettable Character | 15 Grandparents | 16 Worry | 17 Tattoos ~ my this one ...

Happy ThreeTuneTuesday 🎸🎶

I don’t think many younger folks realize how massive Destiny’s Child was! They went from being the next En Vogue to the new Supremes!

Pleasure MadBro... you have a very strong point there too. No needles and whatever "color" into my skin.

This said, it seems also the moment to tell you that the TTT's you post are quite awesome. Normally i really can groove the the sets you put up, it's just... after 35 years of DJ'ying i'm kind of done with the Billboard Noise, (No rules without exception, as usual with me!), since the first is one of these tunes you just can't help it, but to move your booty-ooty along with it. And the third i can't see over here, it just says "video unavailable".

Thanks for being you Brother... Gum bi glainne againn còmhla aon latha...no dhà...no trì! ...if ever, that's guulag translated 😬

Oh really, the third one is the one that I thought you might like the most, as it was a bit of a rock to it!

Seadh, bhiodh glainne no trì na rud sgoinneil!

When you are surrounded by friends who have tattoos, you may be tempted to get a tattoo, especially if they are happy to share their tattoos with you. But I almost got a tattoo before, but luckily I didn't go through with it.

Ah peer pressure, I only had that as a kid really. Well I am glad you didn't do it! Your skin is far nicer without it!

A little bit pressure hehe, yeah thankful until now I didn't do it. Hehe

I only tried the hena and the fake tattoo online, I ordered it before. hahaha

Oh I like hena, I have been to weddings where the brides have beautiful intricate hena tattoos, they were beautiful but they come off lol!

Haha yeah, That's okay, right? If you don't like your tattoo anymore, you can get it removed, unlike a real tattoo, if you don't use a machine, it won't be removed yet.

If you are getting super technical, I have four actually. One of them I got in New York while I was visiting. It's something I designed and my girlfriend at the time got the same one (in a different place). Ask how much my wife loves that...! The other three are from when I got radiation treatment for my cancer. They are just little dots so they could line up the machine in the same place everytime.

haha I do remember my local pub in Aberdeen decades ago had a couple in there that we used to be friends with. The girl got a tattoo of a rose and his name Andy over her breast/cleavage. Three months later they had split up, oh dear me she was so pissed off she got one haha! The three wee dots I am glad worked and they are a special case.

I really don't regret my tattoo at all. My ex might though... I'd be interested in adding some more one day, but it's so expensive!

Ah yes they are not cheap, well you can tell the cheap ones on people arms 🤣

It's a no no for me also😛. Aside from that I'm not a fan of it I don't think my skin wouldn't react to it.😌😌

Yes I know you don't have and you so would not suit them! You are far prettier just as you.

That's killing two birds with one stone, Ed! As for the first part of the post, I love tattoos, but I've never gotten one, and I think at my age, it wouldn't look very good on me. Certainly, being 80 years old and seeing a wrinkled tattoo isn't very aesthetic. Haha. Well, also if I manage to reach 80 years old. As for the second part, I go with Destiny's Child, with a very young Beyoncé. Sending you a hug of ink.

Yes one stone and two birds Nancy, hehe I had to do it! Well the problem with tattoos is that most of them are crap in my eyes and not works of art like people pretend. I know I would have no woman with one! But yes 80 years old and the ink is as faded as the skin is wrinkled! Oh you went Destiny's Child did you, that was my three choice. An ink free hug.

I love certain tattoos on people but not on me, never thought of having one. Yea, I could imagine those who tattooed faces on their skin, how it will look on them at 80! That would be a saggy face tattoo screaming disgust.

Haha you nailed that!

Thank you for your words.

Nice grouping of no no no songs. I also say no to tattoos but I have nothing against them on other folks. Several relatives have them and I think they look fine on them. Just not something I'm personally interested in having for myself.

Just throwing another no no no song into the ring, for my guitar music fans. This one is from Los Bikini Lovers and it is fairly recent although it has the vibe of something from 60 years ago. I hope people who like #rock #music and maybe even #punk or #metal fans might find it interesting. Or not, to each his own, as with tattoos!

I loved this tune from Los Bikini Lovers, I used to listen to them when I lived in Spain. That brought back a few memories.
Yeah tattoos are a personal thing. And a no no no for me too.
