Hello Hello to all music-loving Hivians

It is Tuesday and that of course means two things ....

☑️ Firstly it is #tengotuesday and that means Episode 16 of Talk Time with Tengo is on tonight and we shall hear from musician @ravenmus1c in Raven to do the Tengo with Matilda on Talk Time with Tengo Ep 16 let's hope Matilda is on her best behaviour.

☑️ And secondly, it is #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes!

The songs you will hear today have been picked by me! It all started from a wee chat with @deraaa and she saying that she was mumu (inspiration is everywhere)!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

The formalities

This week is week 100 of ttt and if you wish to participate then follow the rules laid out by @ablaze in his post from last week Ocean Colour Scene for Three Tune Tuesday Week 99 - 9 HBI shares to be won!

Do Go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the NINE sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this world of ours!

This is week 100 did I mention that na!

Formalities over, let's get down to it

So there could only be one theme for me on the ttt for today and that is mumu induced KLF!

The KLF - Justified & Ancient (All bound for Mu Mu Land)

Deraaa "I am such a mumu"
Me "What is that?"
Deraaa "A very Nigerian Insult for Stupid!

Well of course, it's not true but I did immediately think of KLF and Mu Mu land. Knowing what @deraaa said and the African vibes in the tune maybe there is more going on than meets the eye.

The KLF were something else. KLF is rumoured to stand for Kopywrite Liberation Front although this has never been confirmed.

I remember some of their antics from fitting a gun at an award ceremony to the dumping of a sheep there to burning a million pounds in the Hebrides.

They had a multitude of names and this was when they were in their JAMs phase (Justified Ancients of Mu Mu).

This was a remix that had Tammy Wynette the US country star singing, how she ever got involved I have no fluffing idea!

The Timelords - Doctorin' The Tardis

Remember that I said they had a multitude of names.

They were a British electronic band formed in London in 1987. Bill Drummond (alias King Boy D) and Jimmy Cauty (alias Rockman Rock) began by releasing hip hop-inspired and sample-heavy records as the JAMs.

Bill Drummond was an established figure within the British music industry, having co-founded Zoo Records, played guitar in the Liverpool band Big in Japan, and worked as manager of Echo & the Bunnymen and the Teardrop Explodes. Artist and musician Jimmy Cauty was the guitarist in the three-piece Brilliant – an act that Drummond had signed to WEA Records and managed.

Reading that brought another few ttt posts to mind!

In 1988 they released a 'novelty' pop single, "Doctorin' the Tardis" as the Timelords.

It was a mash-up of the Doctor Who theme music, "Block Buster!" by Sweet and Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll (Part Two)".

In the video you can see a 1968 Ford Galaxie American police car owned by "Lord Rock" (Cauty). With "Time Boy" (Drummond) they released the song as The Timelords.

I told you that they were fluffing nuts!

So they credited the car as "Ford Timelord" on the record..

They claimed that Ford Timelord (yes the fluffing car) was the "Talent" in the band and had given them instructions on how to make the record.

Not only that, but Forl Timelord would front the promotional campaign for the single and was even interviewed on TV (and here is me thinking Matilda is nuts!)

This is growing arms and legs, but I have to tell you about their book.

They made a killing from this "novelty" single and so released a book!

Yes a fluffing bestseller ....

In 1989 they released a book called The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way), a step-by-step guide to achieving a number one hit single with little money or talent. In it they described the best way was to not have a job or talent and that Japanese tech would soon make it easy to do from home!

They got that bit spot on!

The KLF - 3 AM Eternal

Have you seen the Pyramid Blaster on the videos?

Prize for commenting what it is in the comments!

So final song of the three is one that had umpteen releases!

3 a.m. Eternal is from their fourth and final studio album, The White Room (1991) and when The KLF were described as acid house...

image.png

Bonus Tune Edelweiss - Bring Me Edelweiss

Remember the No 1 Bestselling book ...?

Well one last look at wiki shows ...

The Austrian dance music band Edelweiss took the book as a primary influence: they read the book, borrowed ABBA's "SOS", and sold five million copies worldwide with "Bring Me Edelweiss". It also proved to be an influence on 2000s British girl group The Pipettes who formed after reading the book in order to explore "the idea of being a pop machine."

Those crazy Austrians took the book to heart and got their moneys worth!

I hope that you enjoyed these tunes from KLF

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

Time Lords is a good name for a band. I notice that there was a Dr. Who album available this past weekend for Record Store Day. This made me think of that again! These folks sound like quite the characters!

These folks sound like quite the characters!

An understatement and they are nutters, they are trying to build their human pyramid, with each block containing human ashes!

Oh Dr Who album I wonder who by?

🤣🤣🤣 I cracked with this one! This time I googled it 😆

My favourite of the 3 was the last one! I liked the vibe to it 😍 I don't know what the Pyramid Blaster is and I feel it's cheating to google it if there is a prize to it ahahah 😂
