It's Sheer Madness

Hello hello silver bloggers, music lovers and Hello hivers!

Inspiration don't you just love it? Well it hits in different places and I love it when I get inspiration from fellow Hivers.

This time it was @seki1 and their The Animal Farm Book Review post although as the cheejy bugger hasnae answered my comment they might not know 🤣.

Animal Farm together with 1984 are two of George Orwell's must read novels in my opinion...

In a fluffing nutshell Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four are both powerful warnings against totalitarianism. Animal Farm uses a fable about a farm rebellion to satirise the Russian Revolution, while 1984 is a bleak dystopian novel about a society controlled by constant surveillance and propaganda.

https://twitter.com/Inevitablewest/status/1973449913813127453

This says it all. After that man TwoTierKeir announced mandatory Digital ID with no fluffing consultation whatsoever, it is just another nail in coffin of free speech in the UK.

Yes the police arrived. I mean seriously .... gettofluffingfluff!

If I posted the lead image I created with gemini, I could well be arrested and jailed for 16 months, this is how far the UK has fallen with this labour/fabian government.

I am shocked at what has become of this country and what the Fabian Society has done. Talk about the enemy destroying from within.

Right enough ranting.

What has this got to do with music....

Well Animal Farm is also a lesser known song from probably my most favourite band over the years... Madness...

With what the Labour government is doing to the citizens of the UK is despicable.

So yeah what they are doing ... it's fluffing MADNESS....

Oh by the way I just won the most recent published ttt winner! That is awesome.... It had been quite a while lol

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

The song that sparked this ttt is from a popular novel but was also made into films and even cartoons @deraaa ...

I have done one or more songs from Madness in these ttt posts...

So today we shall pick some lesser known tunes from them...

image.png

The tune that inspired this weeks ttt.

Tune 1 - Madness - Animal Farm

This was actually the B side to Driving In My Car so probably unfamiliar to most of you.

Animal Farm and is a mostly instrumental reworking of a different Madness song called "Tomorrow's Dream" which appeared on their 1982 album 7.

Release details: "Animal Farm" was released as the B-side to the "Driving in My Car" single on 24 July 1982.

Album inclusion: While it was a B-side, it was later included on the 2010 re-release of their album The Rise & Fall.

Now with @seki1 and @deraaa both hailing from Africa it is only logical to go there next ...

Tune 2 - Madness - Africa

"Africa" by Madness is a song from their brilliant 2009 album The Liberty of Norton Folgate. It was not released as a single, but is a full album track.

I just love that fluffing train whistle at the start!

The lyrics are about a person who is struggling with daily life, and the idea of "Africa" is a dream or an escape from their everyday problems, a place they can go to in their imagination when they "fall asleep".

image.png

We finish up with another album only track

Tune 3 - Madness - Overdone

"Overdone" was a track on their second album, Absolutely, which was released in October 1980. Overdone though was not released as a single.

It is a bit of a change as it's a sad and reflective track about a person who is struggling with feelings of regret, possibly about a past relationship or past mistakes. The song's lyrics touch upon themes of loneliness, heartache and the fear of facing your past.

So there you have it — my three picks for a very "Madness" kind of week.

But wait.....

Well seeing as they are probably my favourite band over the years let's leave one more bonus tune that sums up my mind!!!

Bonus Tune Madness - Forever Young

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of Madness?!?

What tunes are you sharing this Tuesday? Let me know in the comments below!

I only know "Our House" from Madness. I think that is the only song of theirs that actually did something here in the US. I could be wrong though.

Yeah they never really did the US market. But the name perfectly captures what is going on in the UK at the moment.

I saw somewhere that people are buying flip phones and other simple phones to avoid having digital ID.

Two novels I read in the last century and which, sadly, many of this generation are unfamiliar with, when they should be because their civil rights are in danger. To be honest, I had never heard of this band before, but I liked all the songs, especially the rhythm of Forever Young. Oh, I didn't know you had won. Congratulations and take care. Abrazo🫂

Yes unless it becomes a cartoon or anime, many of this generation will not know. It will be too late and they will wonder what has happened to them. They are a great band and probably my favourite. These are not their famous songs, and indeed some were not even singles. Yeah it was in the post from ablaze yesterday. Thank and you a winners hug Nancy.

It's been a while since I've heard Madness, those were all excellent choices. Animal Farm was new to me though, fun song. I really like Forever Young at the end with the strong ska finish! Great stuff!

What the UK government is doing is terrifying. They've taken 1984 and put it on designer steroids. I really starting to hope that the King will show some balls by dissolving parliament. I think it would make the populous much happier to have a chance to pick some new leaders who are more sane!

Woah, that's quite old, but listening to the music brought back sweet memories and melody to my heart. And lol, 'Animal farm' is quite a funny name😅
