I love three tune tuesday and usually throughout the week there is something that springs into my head and a ttt is born.
This week ....
It's all about the BEST!
I have been preoccupied with things off Hive for most of the last week and not been writing at all. I had meant to do the WOTW post, and I still might tonight, the idea was to pick one tune and say why and what it means to you. I won't share it here except the song is Tina Turner and Simply The Best, which got me thinking today about songs with best in the title.
Here I bring you three that I like and one bonus tine!
This then sparked a best ttt post, and I am wondering if it will be a shock for any of my listeners, seeing this mash up ending with Marilyn Monroe!
Pat Benatar 1981 - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
This is one lady who I would have loved to perform live.
I love her voice it is so recognisable! Don't you think? Whether she is singing rock or singing a ballad you know by the sound of the powerful, gritty and heart-wrenching vocals that you are listening to Pat Benetar.
So I went to one of my favourite sites about singers and voice singingcarrots.com and gleaned some info on her.
Hit Me with Your Best Shot: This song showcases Pat Benatar’s ability to handle high notes comfortably while also making use of twang technique.
The twang technique, I never knew that, so now you know. I did know that she is typically characterised as having a range from mezzo-soprano to a high soprano.
Black leather trousers always spring to mind when I think of her!
The next song from an underrated group in my opinion.
The Cars 1978 - My Best Friend's Girl
The Cars had a purple patch in the late 70s and early 80s and had quite a few hits.
My Best Friend's Girl is probably the most recognisable to me!

Foo Fighters 2005 - Best of You
So we finish today's ttt with Best of You from Foo Fighter.
Did you know that this was a one man project by Dave Grohl?
When it comes to musicians he has to be right up there with the best.
Of course you probably know him as the drummer in Nirvana, but he plays a mean guitar amongst other instruments!

Really interesting tunes partner, I guess you love the old tunes and these selections ain't bad at all. But I do love the one by Foo fighters more, hehe.

Man you picked some winners today my friend! Pat Benatar is awesome, and that is a great song...
Then The Cars, another winner, then again most of their songs are. Too bad Rick and Benjamin are both gone, without them it just isn't the same band.
Some Foo Fighters for the end! Another great song. Dave Grohl is an amazing musician, Nirvana's end was one of the best things that could have happened to his career!
And Marilyn, you can't go wrong!

Thank you for this contribution. When I saw the Foo Fighters, I had fond night-time and muddy memories of the open air festival sankt gallen (Switzerand), because I was standing in front of the stage as a security guard. I enjoyed the Foo Fighters and watched the guests to make sure everything went off in a good mood.
