Gold I'll Fly For You it's True ttt 147

Hello Hello to all you wonderful Hivians and music lovers

Gold I'll Fly For You it's True

Tuesday for me on Hive means three tune tuesday...

If you know me then you know I love to take my inspiration from somewhere.

Well this week is no different!

Last week we had the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival. I did put a few wee bets and in the words of Paddy Power I struck Gold!

What with crypto nosediving this week, maybe we should be investing in Gold ...

When I think of Gold I think of one song...

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

Gold I'll Fly For You it's True

I am sure from the title some people will know the songs but for the youngsters I am not so sure!

As you know I love drawing in inspiration from many places for my three tune tuesday post.

@ablaze started #ttt 147 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post Christy Moore for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 147 - 12 HBI shares to be won!

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the TWELVE sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

Today we are going back to be New Romantics!

Spandau Ballet ttt ~ go and get dressed up!

Spandau Ballet - Gold

Spandau Ballet were huge back in the day part of the New Romantics genre.

Gold was taken from their third album True

Their name source....

Friend and writer Robert Elms suggested they change their name to Spandau Ballet, a phrase which he told them he had seen written on a wall on a weekend trip to Berlin: “Rudolf Hess, all alone, dancing the Spandau Ballet”.

Who knew ....?

Not fluffing me 🤣

Spandau Ballet - I'll Fly For You

They loved their ballads and I'll Fly For You was no exception and another hit that flew under the radar!

Spandau Ballet - True

True is arguably one of the greatest love songs of all time.

Interestingly enough it is not surprising when you learn that Gary Kemp wrote this love song as a homage to Marvin Gaye and Motown.

He worte it his parents' house and about the song he said

"'True' became a song about writing a love song. Why 'Why do I find it hard to write the next line? I want the truth to be said?' Because I didn't want to write it down—because there's nothing more embarrassing."

I hope that you enjoyed these Spandau Ballet tunes.

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

He is very handsome!! I have to say that and he has a great voice… always the upspirited soul you! I like this one. You are Gold!!!!

The second one got me like wah! With that doll face. 😂😂whoa!!! But it’s quite a nice song. And is that a river he’s rowing in? Looks like sand to me.

So true is so going into my playlist… it’s my kind of love song. You know me.

If I’ll pick a favorite it’ll be Gold. I really like it

I love the video style of True. It has that modern feel despite being so old …

Three great songs! I loved Spandau Ballet in the 80's, such a talented band. I'm going to have to listen to them some more this week. I thought of another band I hadn't heard in ages, Aztec Camera. I have some catching up to do!

They were huge and had some great songs. Oh yes Aztec Camera now that is a band I have not heard of for years. Someone in my heart off the top of my head!

I have a Spandau Ballet record somewhere down in my collection. I should dig it out sometime. I'm sure it's the album that has "True" on it. I probably wouldn't have bought it otherwise since that is the only song of theirs that amounted to anything in the US.

Yes I am not sure the New Romantics movement was across your side of the water much.

Yeah, we got a little bit of it. Not like they did over in the UK though.
