Lasting Love [My View on Love Egbugomo by Syemca ft Chike]

Love Egbugomo is an Igbo language that translates to the word "Love has taken over me ,or Love has overpowered me". But in literal English term translating directly from the Igbo language it means "Love has Killed me".

Verse 1 of the song, simply expresss how much the love means and how overpowering the love has enveloped his every been. The love is not some ordinary fickle feeling, that suddenly goes away it's a type that holds on till the end.
It's not the love meant for fair weather, it's the one that carries but fire and brimstones and still stays.
So not just about the good times, but on the bad days too.
Today especially in the hard times of the economy crisis and stress, Chike has chosen to say that no matter the kind of love found outside, the type that play with people's feelings. Have multiple girls just because you now have access to them, he says he just wants a particular person and remain there no matter the other girls that exists.

The Song just speaks to my heart, expressing the kind of love that isn't seasonal, or like a particular happy moments or just made with butterflies in the belly kind of Love, but the ones with a Feeling that would hardly be crushed or fades out like the life span of a butterfly.

The Song feels so beautiful listening to it, it doesn't come with fast beats, it's just one that has a slow but steady beat of concrete Assurance and Reassurance that this love is till the end of time.
As I play the song , it reminds me of my own love story of how much of intentionality is attached to it, no noise or confusion, just two persons who decide to stay with eachother.

It reminds me of when my partner intentionally asked me to be his girlfriend, which is quite a rarity, seeing how messed up the dating pool had become. The guy just expects so much from you, makes demands and before you know what's happening you're stuck with someone that doesn't want to commit full time. This one didn't come like that, it came to me with purpose outrightly knowing what it wants and asking if it was enough to be carried through lives journey.
