Friends, I tell you that last May 17th, the band of Montreal released their nineteenth studio album, “Lady On The Cusp”. It is a highlight in the career of the band and its leader, Kevin Barnes. As it happens, I was able to listen to this album and of course, today I am here to share some impressions and reflections on this new work.
First of all, Kevin Barnes has been an important figure in the music of Athens, Georgia, since his arrival in 1996. In this city, known for its history in college music, Barnes forged a unique path with of Montreal, combining influences from Bowie, Prince and Iggy Pop. Since its inception, of Montreal has excelled at blending musical genres.
"Lady On The Cusp" reflects almost everything of Montreal has done so far and also chronicles Barnes' move to Vermont. From what I was researching, this album was written and recorded during the transition period while Barnes was preparing to move. The music and lyrics capture hope for the future, all wrapped up in Barnes' signature sounds.
As another interesting fact, I tell you that The album opens with "Music Hurts the Head", a powerful introduction that shows the band's characteristic style. This track, like many on the album, demonstrates Barnes's ability to blend despair and hope into a single piece of music. I honestly see this specific song as one of the best, especially for its originality.
Another of the songs that stands out the most is 2 Depressed 2 Fuck. This begins with an abrasive electronic disruption before morphing into a more upbeat melody. The mix of styles in this song perfectly links Barnes' multifaceted style, where the initial chaos becomes a reflection on emotional struggle and eventual overcoming. The truth is that it's even kind of fun to listen to.
"Rude Girl On Rotation" and "Soporific Cell," other songs on the album, show Barnes exploring new territories, both personal and creative. These songs celebrate the natural beauty of Vermont and the deep connection Barnes has found with Schneider.
The lead single, "Yung Hearts Bleed Free," is a prime example of fusing avant-garde pop with reflections on personal evolution and new beginnings. Influenced by the funk of Bootsy Collins, this song captures the spirit of the album, combining melodies with interesting lyrics.
On the other hand, I tell you that On a musical level, the album references many of Montreal's recent works and offers a delivery as dynamic as ever, perfectly complementing the varied soundscape of the album.
There are more things that could be mentioned but these are the points that caught my attention the most.
Well dear friends of Rising Star, this is the musical news I wanted to tell you today. The time has come to show you my latest news in the game. Without further ado, let's continue.
Buying new cards in Rising Star
Friends, it's time for my favorite section of the day, I mean this one in which I'm going to tell you about my latest purchases in our beloved Rising Star Game. I tell you that today I bought a total of 3 new cards. The 3 cards are common. My goal with them is to grow my fans to reach the goal of 7k fans of my own. Which by the way I am very close. Well without further ado I will tell you all the details.
The first card I bought is called 33 Joel. This card is very interesting because it offers you 10 fans. And if I buy some more it can be an important difference. I have to tell you in advance that today I also bought some other cards that are a bit better, so don't go away to see them haha. By the way I can not forget to mention that this card also brings 1 skill point.
I was able to buy the card in the in-game market for only about 2254 starbits. Not bad really, considering it is one of the oldest cards in the game. The personalized phrase of this card is: “A lesson in apathy but if you're desparate he's cheap!” haha, a bit funny this phrase.
The second card of the day is called: 35 Keely. I found this card interesting so I couldn't resist adding it to my collection. It is a common card that offers me a total of 25 fans. In the case of the skill there is an improvement over the previous one that only brings 1 as this one brings 10. I think this is undoubtedly the best card of the day that I bought.
The price is naturally a bit higher as it provides better features. Specifically it cost me about 6630 starbits. I see it as an excellent option to buy in quantity as it gives you a boost of 25 fans per card. The tagline on the card is: “More interested in her societ media shots than her music but she comes with fans!”
Finally I show you the last card I bought today. I am referring to the 36 Craig. This card like the previous ones is common. I bought it because I wanted to collect his NFT. The price was also very interesting because it only cost me about 2000 starbits, that is the cheapest of the day. Its usefulness is more practical if you want to raise fans. It gives you 10 and one skill point. The personalized phrase on the card is: “Needs a stylist but not a bod guitartist.”
My general progress in Rising Star.
Well friends, as the final section of this publication I leave you my usual summary of my progress in Rising Star, so you can follow my evolution. I will be happy to show it to you:
