Summer Reflection #7: Everything I do

A bit of a different summer post for day seven of vacation, because we actually did something we haven't done for a very long time - we went to a concert. I think the last concert we went to together was Ed Sheeran in 2019, but there hasn't been much opportunity since. However, for my birthday my wife got us tickets to pretty much the only thing that was available at the time.

Bryan Adams.

I am not a fan. Nor is my wife.

But I gotta say, it really was a pretty decent gig and even though he is mid-sixties, his voice is amazingly good. Some artists can't hold up under live audience, nor age, but he has managed to do both.

I even knew most of the songs.

And my wife was looking good as normal.

I picked the dress and bought it yesterday.

And the shoes. They had to be ordered internationally because of her foot size though. And while they look smashing, they also smashed her feet. But hey, they looked great.

So, after dinner (Smallsteps is at her grandparent's for the night) we went to the local stadium with 12,000 other people and watched Bryan Adams. Finns are pretty reserved at concerts all in all, and this was mostly seated, but it was a nice night out.

The only disappointment was the dinner however, because despite the exorbitant cost to eat somewhere we have been told is awesome, it was bland and rather tasteless, from the starter all the way through to dessert.

Still...

It is nice to try a place that now we know never to go back to again for anything other than a cocktail, as they were good.

I was pretty skeptical before going as to whether I would enjoy it, but by setting the bar very low, I was pleasantly surprised and I think that my wife quite enjoyed the evening too. It is rare that we go out like this, though we have been trying to get out together more often. This was also the start of my wife's vacation, so I think that it is a pretty good kickoff for her.

Now to eat some noodles to fill the hole in my belly.

Seems it is the problem in many countries. We are afraid of eating in a restaurant, had better check the menu before sit :)

The menu looked okay and people had recommended it, but that doesn't mean people have taste :)

I’m just wondering how I have never heard about Bryan Adams and I’m a music fan. I’m wondering how he could even cover 12k fans in a show but still haven’t heard about him. Well, I can’t know everyone…
I’m glad you and your wife had fun

Perhaps the restaurant has recently changed management or the chef. I would have made the appropriate observations. How small to large is the lady's foot? Here, close to home, there is a shoe craftsman who makes the last just the right size for the customer (he takes an impression in plaster).

Nah, the chef is the same, as is the management I think. It just isn't what it is cracked up to be it seems. Peer evaluations aren't very good at times.

How small to large is the lady's foot?

In US sizes it is 3.5-4 - so kids shoes. But, they don't make heels for kids - which is probably a good thing. There is one place online where it is possible to get the right sizes and they also tailor if needed - but it is very expensive. I bought these on sale and they are still more than most women here would have to spend on heels.

What is the possibility of you sending me a sample of Mrs. Nah's footprint on plaster or clay templates to my international mailbox? The idea is that we have the template (footprint) and another one that wraps the whole foot. And the heel height that she wants…

Not really - I don't think I would send my wife's feet anywhere :)

Wow, that is a pretty small show. I like them better that way anyway. It looks like you had a really great time! I'm glad his voice held up. I have been to several of those you water talking about.

It was mostly full - sold out I think. It is an ice hockey stadium and I think it holds 15K, but they don't sell behind the stage.

That sounds pretty typical

The name Bryan Adams sounded familiar, so I looked up some of his songs, and I knew a few of them. I think they were pretty popular at the time and are fairly good, but I'm not a fan as well; I just appreciate his music. It was a bit sad about your dinner though.

I think most would know "summer of 69" or some version of it. However, there are quite a few others like "Heaven" that most would likely recognize. And of course, anyone who has since the old Costner movie - Robin Hood: Prince of thieves.

Happy Birthday Taraz!

It does sound like a great evening and even if the food was bland. I for one would have enjoyed the Bryan Adams music, just not the 12,000 people. I remember listening to him when I was young and didn't even know he was still touring.

Good kickoff to vacation for sure.

I remember listening to him when I was young and didn't even know he was still touring.

It was also interesting that he said he has been touring in Finland since the 1980s.

You must be getting old mate ;D

I’m not really a fan of Bryan Adam’s but he’s really cool. It’s been a long time since I went for a concert. I wish to have that feeling again though and I’m sure you and your wifey enjoyed it…

I picked the dress and bought it yesterday.

Great choice with fun bright colors.

The only Bryan Adams song I remember was from that Robin Hood remake with Kevin Costner... "I do it for you" or something like that. Time for some EDM shows Taraz. That will surely get the blood flowing.

I would do an EDM for sure - but I wouldn't do it alone. I would need some friends with me.

This is lovely!
Love birds outing to a concert 👍.
The 12,000 stadium is filled and I can imagine the kind of shouts and happiness that filled the area.

Your wife looks good 🙌
