Numbers Up

Come on HIVE... Do something.

Me saying that should be enough to spur on a rally that takes Hive up toward the one dollar mark, right? I mean, I really, really, really want it to happen, so perhaps if enough of us wish hard enough, it will! A dollar is the floor price btw - five dollars would be better.

Ten?

Anyone having a birthday and blowing out candles? Maybe lost an eyelash? put shoes on the wrong feet? That last one I am not sure about, but I heard it when I was a kid and remember thinking - an idiot who can't put their shoes on, shouldn't be granted a wish. But whatever, if it works, I'll take it.

Would you?

I can't be the only one who fantasises about the price of HIVE going up so far that it wipes away all the debt, money issues, or need for a job. Am I the only one?

OK.

I don't need a crazy life of fast cars, mansions and private jets - I just want a cosy little life, where I can choose to potter around the house and in the garden. Yeah, I would likely upgrade my car, since it is having a few mechanical niggles creeping in now, but the majority of my spending would likely go on things for my house, renovating the basement, building a patio, buying a nice range of tools and spending time learning how to use them well.

And of course, looking after my family.

Again, nothing glamorous, but a life where they don't have to worry about money. They have had to deal with enough in the last ten years without having to have money issues on top of it. And yeah, dealing with shit in life helps build resilience and understanding - but it would be nice if there was a limit somewhere, so there was a period of respite in some areas at least. I would love to see them happily on a patio, playing cards while waiting for the food to come off the grill - talking about hobbies and laughing. Just a good life.

How much do I need for that in Finland?

More than I have. If it was lumpsum to last the rest of life, it would be somewhere around three million I suspect, which pays off the mortgage and then into investments to live off into retirement. Two and a half if my wife wants to keep working and, Two million if I was able to find a job as well. Debt-free with a decent income would make a world of difference in our lives - as I am sure it would in the majority of people's lives in the world. But, how many will ever realise that position? Bar winning the lottery, how many are really giving themselves a chance?

I reckon most of us are just drifting through, doing what we have always done, not taking chances, playing it safe in what we know, and protecting ourselves from loss. Loss of income, loss of face - loss of opportunity?

They say that "fortune favours the bold", but if that was true, wouldn't we all be bold? But then, if everyone is bold, who can fortune choose to favour? I feel I haven't been bold enough in my life, and it has cost me. My reserved personality isn't much suited for the current culture, and I have spent too much time waiting for something to happen, without even having a ticket in the lottery.

I have a ticket now.

Just need the numbers to come up.

I can´t hear this anymore.
Do you think Hive can go up by magic? There needs more people to buy Hive than to sell. Are you buying? Why not? So if you are not buying, why do you think someone else should buy?

Oh... You didn't get the sarcasm? Or is this sarcasm on the sarcasm? I am not always sure in writing.

And yeah, I have bought quite recently. A few more tickets in the lottery :)

Your sarcasm was notable, not sure about the comment. If it is, it's very well hidden.

It is hard at times in writing to know, because personalities aren't always clear. I will give the benefit of the doubt :)

7-13-42-23-19... I am not a fan of the lottery or any game of chance. Money earned with hard work and small investments. My only debts are those generated by utilities and risk and hospitalization insurance.

I think that living on what I own is enough. I also perceive this well-being in my neighbors when we share a cup of coffee or chocolate at every sunset, or when we decorate the neighborhood at Christmastime. These are shared moments that fill me up.

I hope in a few years to read in a publication of yours, that you are in the garden enjoying a good meat, with an excellent wine and with the family and your neighbors. A hug full of blessings.

Well, I do that now - it is just missing the comfort of a patio to grill in and nice chairs to relax into. The area is there - but it is gravel.

My only debts are those generated by utilities and risk and hospitalization insurance.

I was considering getting rid of my life insurance - as the amount they would get isn't that much, but the costs are high.

Wouldn't it be nice to never have to move it out to fiat? Just live in the digital finance world, but with real comforts of the walking world :)

You’re not alone I actually believe thousands of us on Hive share the same dream with you.
Let’s keep dreaming together and if Hive ever hits a dollar, a free coffee from me to you ☕

To make the dream a reality, it takes people buying Hive on the exchanges and then wanting to come here and power it up :)

You probably have a better chance of it happening if you have a couple of Korean traders in your pocket. That's more likely than a birthday wish making a difference. I can try though, my birthday is coming up soon! 3m feels like a good number. I'm with you there.

if you have a couple of Korean traders in your pocket.

Do you have any to spare? Wouldn't it be nice not to have to rely on traders, but instead a community that wanted to be here, powering up, buying, engaging.

Blow hard! That is not an insult ;)

I will see what I can do. I am not even sure I am going to get a cake. It sounds like I am going to be on the road watching baseball or something for my birthday. I agree about the traders. It would be nice if the price could support itself, but we have seen how easily it can be moved by shenanigans.

Time's the trick. Always wishing you luck for that, especially the job part. Winning the lottery is nice and such, just to get that cold breath off your neck, but I believe the working part is more essential than money. Economy will get better eventually, let's hope it's not too far out (that will help the other investments, too). Have a good night!

just to get that cold breath off your neck,

I think there are a few things back there breathing...

but I believe the working part is more essential than money.

I agree. It is the bare minimum.

Well, I just started for real on Hive less than a year ago. I didn't have time to accumulate enough Hive for it to be meaningful even if the price goes up to $5. So I am thinking next BTC cycle is when I would be hoping for my payout. Also, this would give more time for crypto markets to mature and hopefully Hive realize its potential.

Who knows, perhaps it will receive one of those crazy endorsements from somewhere that positions it in the right place at the right time and it takes off.

How much I would give to have that quiet life, without worries of survival, which is what has characterized my life for years in a country like Venezuela.
Obviously, if Hive were to improve, my economic situation would also improve to some extent, since I must admit that for a long time being in Hive has been my “lifeline”.
I recognize, like you, that I am not bold, and my life projects have been very simple. To be a university professor of literature, to write and to read, to share books, to go to the movies, to travel a little -at least in my country-. But many of those things that I used to be able to do without major inconveniences with my salary, are very far from being able to satisfy them since a long time ago.
We will continue to be, to live, to exist.
Thank you for your reflections.

It seems that everyone around the world has had to cut back on their life, even though they are earning okay. While the few get richer, the profits they make come from the many.

Luck favors the brave. It's mostly true. You can't get luck without taking risks, and the chance of luck doesn't come.

The price of Hive will rise above $1, but it will take time. Also, the hives need to be in a sellable condition. I think you'll reach the amount you want.

I now try to keep some Hive liquid, just in case. I used to have everything powered up all the time - but it didn't work so well. Now, just a touch to play with :)

2-3 million just to live a simple debt free life? Damn Finland is expensive. I would be happy with a few hundred k. That would allow me to invest most of it and not worry about money. Like not long ago I paid 8 eur for cabbage, a few lemons and some radishes. That is insane. With a few hundred k I would no longer have to be pissed about paying those 8 eur.😛

They say that "fortune favours the bold",

My bank account has about 770 eur while my Hive account is worth 4332 dollars. I wonder how much more bold do I need to be. If things go like this I will be not only bold but also bald before I will reach my goals...

What I do not understand is how come Hive has so little users. Hive is such amazing concept/ such huge possibility. It is created and kept alive by people much smarter than me. Surely at least few of those people should also be smart enough to attract more people here... I have no ideas how to do that but I am no genius.

Considering it has to last until I and my wife dies, it isn't that much. Decent salaries for the next 25 years. But being debt free, it would stretch further.

Like not long ago I paid 8 eur for cabbage, a few lemons and some radishes.

Shopping for anything is depressing now...

What I do not understand is how come Hive has so little users. Hive is such amazing concept/ such huge possibility.

Because people are sheep. They want to be where everyone already is, rather than making a place people want to be. So they end up on the heavily marketed, advert-driven, centralised sites.

That is because nobody knows about Hive and if people see something about Hive a lot of the general public immediately call it a crypto scam as anything crypto is pretty much considered a scam outside the crypto community.

Yes, I tried to invite a few people. One stayed for a +- month and left without making any comments or posts. Some others consider it a scam like you said...

I think a lot of us are silently wishing for that Hive pump. For some, it might be to get huge profits but not because we want luxury, but just some peace of mind. I think if Hive pump over 1 dollars in the recent market surge. For somebody like me that doesn't have much stake. I can only think of making some profits and wait for the market to go down again then reinvested. I don't have much wish but to have a good life in this temporal life of ours. We can only think of possible movement these days since we can't really tell if Hive will certainly move. No one really understands much of the factor that determines the surge in price of Hive just the fact that if btc surge or pump we believe altcoins should join too.

The challenge is, when it is going down, do you still have the profit to reinvest, and will you? This is the difference for many.

I wish the price of HIVE would be $1 at least, $5 would be amazing :) We have been here for years and everybody has an economic plan about HIVE for the future, such as passive income. Btw, I wanna fund my travels with HIVE :)

You are cheap lol. My goal is $10 million once I earn the first $1 million as they say once you have made one then the others are easier. We are going to relocate so yes I need big bucks as this is setting up the entire family. I do think we need to be diversified and not relying on one horse, maybe 3 or 4 to increase the odds.
