Wild Riffs: The Rock Anthems That Set the Movie Screen on Fire/part 2

As it is Saturday, we are finally on a break, so I'm going to take advantage of today to continue playing good music and at the same time we'll remember movies.

So I present to you some rock songs that have appeared in popular movies:

At number 6 you find: “James Bond” – Guns N Roses

The pity is that this song does not appear in any of the 007 sagas. The original song is by Paul McCartney & Wings and appears in the James Bond film Live and Let Die (1973), but I chose it from the group because the style that Guns N Roses give it is amazing.

At number 7 you find: “Hurricane” – Bob Dylan

This song by Bob Dylan was released on the album Desire. It talks about a great injustice in the era of segregation in the United States, that is, when people of different skin colors were treated worse than a dog.

Bob Dylan's song is dedicated to one of those injustices. I'm talking about the boxer Rubin "Hurricane" who was accused of having killed three people in 1966.

In an interview:

Dylan mentioned that he wanted to highlight the flaws of the judicial system and how Carter had been convicted in an unfair trial, without concrete evidence. At that time, Dylan had already used his music to address social and political issues, but "Hurricane" was one of his most direct protests against racism and corruption in the justice system.

But in the end he proved his innocence and after spending 20 years in prison he was released because the evidence presented was not conclusive. And I wonder, after spending 20 years in prison, does the state have to compensate you for that time? If anyone knows the answer, please leave it in a comment.

At number 8 you find: “Guardians of the Galaxy” – Norman Greenbaum

Song from the 60s and early 70s has a guitar riff that gets stuck in your head and you can't get it out, this guitar riff is ranked number 5 in a survey they did among all the rock groups and the truth is that I love this riff at the beginning of the song, in 1st position is the riff from Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

Thanks to the mix of alternative rock, funk and electronic music, it gave it a boost in popularity, and the truth is that if a song appears in a movie, it is a very good showcase to make yourself known.

This song, with its fusion of genres and its experimental style, stands out for its unique character and for the impact it had not only within the context of the movie, but also in popular culture.
