This new Black Crowes album is freaking awesome!

The Black Crowes formed in 1984 in Atlanta, GA. They cut their chops in the southern US music scene through the late 80s and hit it big with their debut album in 1990, Shake Your Money Maker.

I remember seeing their video for the first single, Hard to Handle, on MTV in 1990. The song is an Otis Redding song originally recorded in 1968. Here is the video I'm talking about. It's such a fun video, with some live footage and some rehearsal stuff too. It was impressive at the time.

Also the music is solid. They had a groove that was not popular at the time (early 90s), ask @geneeverett.

The backbone of the band are brother Chris and Rich Robinson. I love these guys, they make some great music. However, they also fight like brothers, and the band suffers. There have been many feuds over the years, sadly, but when they get together and it's about the music, they make some good shit!

This new album, Happiness Bastards is so so good. It harkens back to their hay day around their second or third album. The album artwork is great as well!!

I love me some southern rock! It's soulful af 💯

Sometimes it's too much for a city-boy like me, but most the time I just love it.

So this new album is the first for the boys in 13 years, and boy-howdy it's fucking loaded with soul! 13 years worth!

You'll have to look it up on your fave music service if you think it's worth your time. I can tell you though, it is!

Plus, the vinyl is a great package. The sleeve with the lyrics is sloppy and great!

Listened to it twice through today, then cherry picked my favorites after that. Really enjoying it!

I’m pissed because they were opening for Aerosmith. They canceled all tour dates!!!

Yeah, saw that. The Crowes did a small tour after they cancelled and skipped Portland. Though I can't blame them for that xD

I'm going to have to check it out, they're a great band and have been on the sidelines for a few years. More great music to go check out!
