Paul McCartney & Wings π™Šπ™£π™š 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙙 π˜Ύπ™‘π™–π™₯π™₯π™žπ™£π™œ double LP

Let's take a look (and listen) to the new album from Paul McCartney and Wings, One Hand Clapping.

While this live, double album was just released a couple weeks ago, it's been 50 years in the making. Or, more accurately, about 48 years on a shelf and 2 years in the making ;)

These tracks were recorded live, in a studio, over three days in August, 1974. The Wings album Band On The Run had been released about 8 months prior and, in August, 1974 was in the middle of seven weeks at #1 on the UK charts.

In June of '74 Wings booked a studio in Nashville for rehearsals and jams with local musicians. They also recorded a new single, Juniors Farm, before they left for England and EMI studios to record their live album and video, One Hand Clapping.

Here's Juniors Farm from those sessions.

Live and Let Die is the theme song to the James Bond film of the same name and the first rock song to open a Bond film. The films producers contacted McCartney while the screenplay was still being written, he read the Ian Fleming novel then wrote the song in a day!!

Here is what He said about it:

"I read it and thought it was pretty good. That afternoon I wrote the song and went in the next week and did it ... It was a job of work for me in a way because writing a song around a title like that's not the easiest thing going."

Wings recorded Live and Let Die in October of 1972, while in the studio recording the album Red Rose Speedway.

This song is a banger! Here it is live, in studio, for the One Hand Clapping sessions with an orchestra!!

Damn, that's good! Looks like fun too :D

McCartney (solo & with Wings) recorded 5 albums between 1970 and 1974, with the latest, Band on the Run, being the most successful (commercially and critically).

Jet was the second single released from the Band on the Run album in late 1973. Here's Wings performing it a year later during One Hand Clapping sessions.

Listen to Linda nail that classic keyboard solo at 2:03.

Not sure exactly why this project ended up on the shelf. After recording it the band started planning and rehearsing for their biggest world tour to date, which ended up spanning two years and 66 cities worldwide.

Some of the songs from these sessions were released by Paul over the years as bonus tracks on other albums, but this is the first time the full meal deal has been released.

If you're a fan of 70s rock then I highly recommend checking this album out on:
Spotify
Apple Music
YouTube or just buy the vinyl ya cheap bastard xD

Definitely would be a great buy for someone who loves the 70s music stuff. I wonder why he kept it on the shelf for so long?

He sure sat on those songs long enough... I wonder why? He produced some good music in the 70's!
