ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to all the members of this community! Lately I have been willing to search for and attend any cultural or artistic event that can be scheduled in the city where I live (Barquisimeto-Venezuela). Those kinds of moves have always been my weakness. For many years I had the desire to attend plays or concerts, but before moving to the city, access to places where cultural events take place was difficult for me, since I lived in a town. One of the things I did as soon as I moved was to get the social networks of some institutions that promote culture and art in the state and thanks to this, I have been able to find out about activities and events at affordable prices or completely free. Yesterday, for example, I was able to attend a beautiful popular lyrical recital that was held in the auditorium of the Pío Tamayo Public Library, in celebration of the month of the national artist.

I found out about the recital on Friday and I almost missed it, since just a few days ago, I had gotten the library's Instagram. Without giving it much thought, I arranged my itinerary to be able to attend. In the event, there would be the light lyric tenor Jonathan Evies, the master pianist Álvaro Niño, as well as other guest musicians of great renown in the state (the latter, I found out at the same event). I am a lover of instrumental music and voices like tenor, soprano and those styles, of which I am not familiar at all ha ha but I enjoy them enormously, so without a doubt, I had to take advantage of this golden opportunity.

Once I arrived, I was able to appreciate the place of the auditorium a bit, since it was the first time that I had accessed that part of the library, since I had gone before as a user, but only to the area for books. Once we made the payment (a price of only $2, as a collaboration), they allowed us access to the conference room.

Once there, and after a few minutes of waiting, the master pianist Álvaro Niño went on stage to play a beautiful song. After his wonderful presentation, one of the managers of the place gave us information about that young musician, who is a national promise who is about to start a tour of Europe. That filled me with pride, because although I don't know him as a person, knowing that talent and discipline towards an instrument is capable of taking someone so far is motivating to focus on the goals and things we like. I thought of my sister @maisugar who is currently starting the cello and my wish that she manages to go very far in the execution of the instrument that she is so passionate about.

Later, the tenor Jonathan Evies appeared and after a few words to the audience, where there were musician friends and acquaintances, his performance began, accompanied by Álvaro on piano. I was delighted with Jonatan's powerful voice, it resounded throughout the room and matched perfectly to the sound of the piano. For a better enjoyment, I closed my eyes, letting myself be carried away by the sounds that came and concentrating only on them. It was an incredible experience.

Followed by a couple of songs, something unexpected happened. The tenor began to call some musicians who were in the audience one by one, making their respective presentations and joking that the invitation to join the recital had been given by chance while he was buying empanadas (very popular food that consists of fried dough in the shape of a crescent, filled with different ingredients). Like "Hey, I have a concert on Saturday, do you want to join?" and his musician friends had gladly joined. We then enjoy together with the voice of the tenor, a violinist, a guitarist and a percussionist.

Before finishing, one more musician took the stage, who played his guitar in accompaniment to the singer. The man had mentioned to the tenor that he wanted to join him and he, as his friend, accepted it.

Finally, we all thanked the musicians with applause and standing ovations, as each of the songs performed had touched our hearts and we applauded effusively each time one came to an end. It was something brief, but extremely beautiful and I am sure that, like me, the rest of the attendees were moved. The place was more than anything, full of older people and it was noticeable that the popular songs that were performed transported them back to their youth and several dared to tell anecdotes or information about the songs.

They informed us before leaving that other activities of this type would be carried out soon, since not only the use of that space is desired, but also the promotion of art, which is food for the spirit. I can confirm it, because I felt that in those few hours, my heart was more than moved.

I took advantage of the fact that there were a few exhibitions on that floor and took a few photographs. The Pío Tamayo Library is a cultural and artistic center, which despite everything, has been maintained thanks to those who still believe in the value of reading and art. I am glad to know that the institution has not been abandoned.

Before I left, I noticed the posters that were outside the library, where the tenor offers a singing workshop. I would really like to have a beautiful singing voice, I feel that being able to reach the public in that way is a wonderful gift. There is nothing like appreciating music, it is part of us or at least, I cannot go a day without listening to music, for me it is the compass that allows me to carry out my activities and these concerts and recitals are a broader enjoyment. If you have the opportunity to support art and culture exhibitions, as well as local concerts, I invite you to do so. There is nothing more satisfying for these artists than knowing that their art is valued and our attendance, praise and applause are valuable.

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad! Últimamente he estado dispuesta a la búsqueda y asistencia de cualquier evento cultural o artístico que pueda programarse en la ciudad en la que habito (Barquisimeto-Venezuela). Esa clase de movimientos, siempre han sido mi debilidad. Durante muchos años tenía el anhelo de asistir a obras de teatro o conciertos, pero antes de mudarme a la ciudad, el acceso a los sitios en donde se desarrollan los eventos culturales, me era de difícil acceso, dado que vivía en un pueblo. Una de las cosas que hice apenas me mudé, fue conseguir las redes sociales de algunas instituciones que promueven la cultura y el arte en el estado y gracias ello, me he podido enterar de actividades y eventos de precios accesibles o completamente gratuitos. El día de ayer, por ejemplo, pude asistir a un hermoso recital lírico popular que se realizó en el auditorio de la Biblioteca pública Pío Tamayo, en celebración al mes del artista nacional.

Me enteré el viernes del recital y por poco me lo pierdo, ya que apenas unos días atrás, había conseguido el Instagram de la biblioteca. Sin pensarlo mucho, acomodé mi itinerario para poder asistir. En el evento, estarían el tenor lírico ligero Jonathan Evies, el maestro pianista Álvaro Niño, así como otros músicos invitados de gran renombre en el estado esto último, me enteré en el mismo evento). Yo soy amante de la música instrumental y de las voces como tenor, soprano y esos estilos, de los cuales, no soy para nada conocedora ja ja pero los disfruto enormemente, así que sin duda, tenía que aprovechar ésta oportunidad de oro.

Una vez que llegué, pude apreciar un poco el lugar del auditorio, ya que era la primera vez que accedía a aquella parte de la biblioteca, ya que había ido antes en calidad de usuaria, pero sólo a la zona destinada a los libros. Una vez que realizamos el pago (un precio de tan sólo 2$, a modo de colaboración), nos permitieron acceder a la sala de conferencias.

Una vez allí y luego de unos minutos de espera, subió al escenarios el maestro pianista Álvaro Niño a tocar una preciosa canción. Luego de su maravillosa presentación, una de las encargadas del lugar, nos dio información acerca de aquel joven músico, el cual es toda una promesa nacional que está a punto de iniciar una gira por Europa. Eso me llenó de orgullo, pues aunque no lo conozco como persona, saber que el talento y la disciplina hacia un instrumento es capaz de llevar a alguien tan lejos, es motivador para enfocarse en las metas y cosas que nos gustan. Pensé en mi hermana @maisugar quien actualmente se está iniciando en el violoncello y mi deseo de que logre llegar muy lejos en la ejecución del instrumento que tanto la apasiona.

Después, apareció el tenor Jonathan Evies y tras unas breves palabras al público, en donde habían conocidos y amigos músicos, se dio por iniciada su interpretación, acompañado por el piano de Álvaro. Quedé encantada con la potente voz de Jonatan, la misma resonaba por todo el salón y se acoplaba perfectamente al sonido del piano. Para un mejor disfrute, cerré los ojos, dejándome llevar por los sonidos que acudían y concentrándome sólo en ellos. Fue una experiencia increíble.

Seguido de un par de canciones, sucedió algo inesperado. El tenor comenzó a llamar uno a uno a unos músicos que estaban entre el público, haciendo sus respectivas presentaciones y bromeando acerca de que la invitación a sumarse al recital, se había dado de manera casual mientras estaba comprando empanadas (comida muy popular que consiste en masa frita en forma de media luna, rellena con diferentes ingredientes). Tipo "Hey, tengo un recital el día sábado ¿Te quieres unir?" y sus amigos músicos se habían sumado con gusto. Disfrutamos entonces junto a la voz del tenor, un violinista, guitarrista y un percusionista.

Antes de terminar, subió al escenario un músico más, que tocó su guitarra en acompañamiento al cantante. El señor le había mencionado al tenor que deseaba unírsele y él, como su amigo, lo aceptó.

Finalmente, todos agradecimos a los músicos con aplausos y ovaciones de pie, puesto que cada una de las canciones ejecutadas había tocados nuestros corazones y aplaudíamos con efusión cada vez que una llegaba a su término. Fue algo breve, pero sumamente hermoso y estoy segura de que al igual que yo, el resto de los asistentes quedó conmovido. El lugar estaba más que nada, lleno de gente mayor y se notaba que las canciones populares que fueron interpretadas, los transportaba a sus años de juventud y varios se atrevieron a contar anécdotas o datos acerca de las canciones.

Nos informaron antes de retirarnos, que próximamente se realizarían otras actividades de ese tipo, puesto que no sólo se desea el uso de aquel espacio, sino también el fomento del arte, el cual es alimento del espíritu. Puedo confirmarlo, pues sentí que en esas breves horas, mi corazón quedó más que conmovido.

Aproveché que habían unas cuantas exposiciones en aquel piso y tomé unas cuantas fotografías. La biblioteca Pío Tamayo es un centro cultural y artístico, que a pesar de todo, se ha mantenido gracias a aquellos que aún apuestan por el valor de la lectura y el arte. Me alegra saber que la institución no ha sido abandonada.

Antes de irme, me fijé en los carteles que estaban fuera de la biblioteca, en donde el tenor ofrece un taller de canto. Me gustaría muchísimo tener una voz linda para cantar, siento que poder llegar a ese modo hasta el público, es un don maravilloso. No hay nada como valorar la música, ella forma parte de nosotros o al menos, yo no puedo estar un día sin escuchar música, para mí es el compás que me permite realizar mis actividades y estos conciertos y recitales, son un disfrute más amplio. Si tienen la oportunidad de apoyar las exposiciones de arte, de cultura, así como conciertos locales, los invito a hacerlo. No hay nada más satisfactorio para esos artistas que el saber que su arte es valorado y nuestra asistencia, halagos y aplausos, son valiosos.
