Greetings Hive Open Mic family! I’m grateful to be part of Hive Open Mic Week 293. For this week, I made a cover of “More of You” by Sinach, and my reason for choosing this song is deeply personal. It reflects a strong desire in my spirit in this season—to draw closer to God in a deeper and more intentional way.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on my journey and I realized that even though I pray, worship, and pursue goals, I sometimes focus more on results than relationship. I found myself asking God for help, guidance, open doors, and favor, but not always pausing to simply know Him more. That realization truly humbled me. This song inspires me to surrender my own plans and make room for God to shape my thoughts and desires. Instead of just praying for things to change around me, I’ve been praying that God changes me from the inside. That shift in perspective is a major part of the inspiration behind this cover.

I also chose this song because of how it speaks to identity. It reminds me that walking with God isn’t about performance or religious activity, but about transformation that starts from the heart. Singing it felt like making a personal commitment to put spiritual growth above ambition, above emotions, and above external pressures. It inspired me to seek God not for what I can receive, but for who He is to me.

Recording this cover wasn’t just a performance—it felt like a spiritual reminder to keep placing God at the center of everything I do and to live from a place of surrender, humility, and desire for His presence above all else.
