As I looked back, I realized that my survival, progress, and standing today are not by my strength or power, but by the mercy of God. Every day I am still standing is a testimony of His love and grace. There were seasons when life’s challenges rose strongly against me, and it felt like the enemy was coming like a flood, but God always raised a standard and became my defense.

The chorus was birthed from a personal realization that it was mercy that found me and mercy that saved me. I did not save myself; Jesus reached out to me in His compassion. This song is my way of acknowledging that without His mercy, I would not be who I am today.

In the second verse, I reflect on how God captured my heart with His love, blessed me abundantly with His grace, and lifted me from the miry clay to place my feet upon a solid rock. That experience gave me confidence to face tomorrow and live a life without disgrace. It became clear to me that the life I now live is not by power or might, but purely by mercy — na Your mercy o.
