Three tune Tuesday and someone who could tell the future of our parking lots....

Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about Joni Mitchell, sometimes I think she is not mentioned enough in life. She was clearly a genius and her singing and song crafting was unsurpassed in her style. I mean you hear a Joni song and you know it is her. She is so recognisable that you instantly know it is her. It is also nice to have Canada represented....

Song 1

This is a beautiful song and her singing is incredible, she gets to notes that I never knew existed. Not only that in this song she just does it so efortlessly.

Song 2

Both Sides Now is a classic. Again this is so well crafted it makes me want to give up music as I am not sure I would every write anything as good. I love her lyrics on this and it just flows.

Lets add a live version for 1970 as well just to show what a natural artists she is

I could not do this blog without this song...I think one her biggest song and it is worth it just for the backing vocals! However this song not only again shows what a great writer she is but also that she was also a visionary. I mean playing this in the context in 2024 shows that she had it all summed up 50 years ago...makes you think we should have listen to more Joni!

As I was listening to her for this blog I forgot how many songs of hers I absolutely adored and also what a piece of genius the Album "Blue" is so here is a bonus song.
