Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about Eric Clapton, heralded by his fans and on lots of grafiti as "god". It is a bit of a stretch but you can see form that how revered he is. We have seen him many times over the years and he always puts on a good show and has a great band and an amazing collection of friends he gets to play with him.

Song 1

Do you get more iconic than Layla, its a classic riff that is definitely his. I picked a live version of this song as it has the energy you want from this song. It also has a classic solo by him, I was also at this concert as when I was a kid we used to go to a box every year to see him at the Albert hall! A fond childhood memory that is for sure, being a child and getting to see a legend like him will forever be with me.

Song 2

Let us not forget about Cream, the influential powerhouse Trio that he formed with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker! This is a classic riff again, not sure if Eric or Jack wrote it but thousands of new guitarists have learnt it!

Song 3

Now this is such a deeply emotional song that I could not leave it off the list. Written after the death of his son you can hear the pain in this song and the bravery it took him to release it. Having lost a son this one resonates with me always.

Bonus song

Could not leave his awesome cover of this Bob Marley song off the list so have it as a bonus!

We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!

Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!
