Three Tune Tuesday and get some Cream with your sunshine and feel free
Introduction
@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!
Our picks
This week we are all about the Cream, a powerhouse of a British rock band from the 60's with 3 of the best musicians of their generation. This band defined an era in British music for a short time and their general standards of playing and some of the song writing make them a go to band if you are looking at the history of British modern music. It is also a very personal band for us as Jo Bruce (Jack's son) was a very good friend of ours before his tragic death.
Song 1
How can you now hum along to this one? Not only does it have a catchy melody but perfectly embodies the title of the song. there is a freedom in the playing which on top of top notch musicianship is what makes this a classic.
Song 2
I think you know you have written a classic when every beginner guitarist and bass player is playing your song to learn. This has a classic riff that has endured the last 50 years. I mean what more could you ask for as a legacy?
Song 3
We had to include White room which is another powerhouse of a tune. its pure driving opening sets the scene perfectly for one of their most iconic songs. I would also nominate this as one of the greatest guitar solos of all time...controversial but as a solo it is inspirational.
We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!
Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!
Stick Up Boys
