Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about the legend, the icon, the genius of Madonna. She has had one of the most prestigious careers of a generation and is a household name. She has done well managing her image through the decades and has managed to work with some of the top producers every decade since the 80's. On top of this she is one of the top selling female artists of all time. I don't think it matters if you like her or not, she has managed to seamlessly adapt her image and career to move with every change in pop music and done it successfully, how many artists can say the same.

Song 1

Now this is such a great song, with some serious 80's production. It has sublime backing vocals and an iconic video. It is funny watching her back in her starting days.

Song 2

Now lets move on in time and see how Madonna then came up with a movement all of her own. Now only does the production move with the times she also came up with iconic dance moves that are still being referred to today in clubs when you are really drunk.

Song 3

For our third pick lets go right up to the modern day. Yet again she moves gracefully with the times. The one thing that has sustained her career for decades. She constantly moves with the changing sound of pop music and this is no exception. We have had this on in the car a few times and it pumps along as we are driving.

We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!

Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!

Great choice and selection of tunes. I didn't hear the most recent one before, but it is actually pretty catchy.

I went to see see Madonna in Leeds in 1987 on her Who's that Girl world tour. I wasn't a fan but it was such a once in a lifetime chance that I had to go. I don't remember much tbh. I remember Hue and Cry, who had one hit, supporting her and I remember a rough Leeds crowd singing 'get your tips out for the lads', between songs and she stopped to listen and asked what they were singing. When she realised she just said 'ill do no such thing ' and looked rather pissed off. The gig was more show than gig and it was all choreography and lipnsyncing i suspect. Still have the program and ticket stub somewhere in my mums attic lol Glad I went though so I can get the odd occasion to recall the story and bore someone with it!

Hope you guys are well and having a giffing good weekend :-)

PS the following year, MJ came to play :-)
