Three tune Tuesday and a Scotish powerhouse of a producer

Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about Calvin Harris, with over 52 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a list of collabs going up his arm, he really has found his style and his thing! I am listening now to his top songs on Spotify and it is an impressive list of one pop hit after the other all with global stars. I love a bit of pure modern pop but I have to say picking three songs is going to be tough from such a list!

Song 1

I remember seeing Rag n Bone mans first performance on the Jools Holland show in the UK. I remember stopping looking at my phone and thinking that man has got one hell of a voice. He released this song after his massive break out song "Human". Such a big song and has the classic feels of Calvin's production with a disco dance beat and big rumbly bass. It is what Calvin does best, make space for some big singers and big songs!

Song 2

This is he most played song on Spotify currently and is a collab with the amazing Dua Lipa. This is a light weight Ibiza, dance floor classic that has spawned many a remix and it is hard not to mention when talking about him. I have listened to this on the radio in the car many times on some long journeys and while I don't love, I do appreciate it.

Song 3

Now I do love this song and it another one of his global hits. Is it Rhianna feat Calvin or is it Calvin feat. Rhianna! Now when I first heard this song I thought she was singing "homeless place"! It has the classic filtered and synth intro with a big beat driving it along. I do love Rhianna and have been a fan since she started all those years ago. This is pure dance/pop at its very best, it is a flawless piece of production and song writing.
