Introduction

We have been doing a series of videos about our equipment and are planning to do some more focused tutorials in the future for all the budding musicians out there! This is a complete look at the features of the Elekron cycles. We have also made some free loops that you can get if you can't be bothered to work it all yourself, you can just download some free loops made by us and use them! ELEKTRON MODEL:CYCLES

6 voice FM drum synthesizer and 64 step sequencer
Stereo Out on un or balanced jacks, mirrored on a fairly beefy headphone out.
MIDI in and out on 3.5mm. It comes with converter leads.
Mains power only, although the somewhat elusive BP-1 battery handle (4xAAs) might be available sometime.
Comes with a snazzy branded USB lead too., is USB class compliant, does two-channel audio and MIDI over USB. All or none can be active as you decide.
Comes with USB lead, MIDI adapters, PSU, manual, stickers.
MACHINES
6 “machines”, each track can be any machine.
Kick, Snare, Metal, Perc, Tone, Chord.
Play with the T1-T6 keys, settings in the PAD MENU. Velocity is tough, I turn off.
Or play with the 1-16 keys 16 semitones, with 9 being the “middle” C5, same as the pad. Can transpose with FUNC+TRACK
PARAMETERS
12 parameters-
Color, Shape, Sweep, Contour
Pitch and decay
Delay and reverb
LFO, Vol+Dist
Punch and hold
Swing and chance
Go through each one by sound, including swing and chance
Two FX sends - delay with adjustable time and feedback, reverb with size and tone.
Each track has it’s own FX send, which can be sequenced.
VOL, PUNCH, HOLD, DIST, PAN
Go thru them
LFO
One per track, can control one parameter. Speed( combi of LFO SPEED and LFO Mul setting), phase, reset, ENV mode allows in to work like an envelope
SEQUENCER
1-64 steps
1/8th - x2 speed
Each track can have own settings
Step record, live quantized, live unquantized, quantize menu
P-LOCKS
Otherwise known as automation
Go thru it all, don’t forget changing instrument
FILL MODE
Doesn’t work in rec mode

BASICS
Outputs all ¼” jacks, mains, USB mid and or audio, class compliant
6 voice FM drum synth - each voice 1 of 6 machines in any combi - 6 kicks joke
64 step sequencer - each track can be different length and playback speed
6 banks of 16 patterns, stored in one of 96 projects - if u fill it up u probably need to get some vitamin D
Sound of each machine - no indicator of what the parameter is on
Can play sound with Pad or chromatically
Enter steps - 3 Record modes
