Open Mic Week 156 - Til The End

Originally written in 1962 by Wilbert Harrison, this cover was Bryan Ferry's first solo single following the end of Roxy Music.
Generally well received, although it did have it's critics.
'Til The End' was the subject for this week, and this song is from the viewpoint of a guy who clearly thinks that the phrase should apply to his marriage.
I'm a fairly long term fan of Roxy Music, and a lot of Bryan Ferry's early solo work.
He did lose me a little though, when his music tended to dwell on covers from around the 40's, but his voice does tend to point him in that direction.
Hope you enjoy this version.
(Even the very questionable lead guitar solo..)

I love the sound of your guitar, your composition and the perfect blend of your voice.
It's my first time hearing of Roxy music and it sounds awesome.

Indeed, we all need to stick together till the end. Much love🥰

Thanks for that.
Suppose Roxy was a part of my teenage years, so lots of fond memories.
You're right with the guitar sound.
I've had a few, and this is the one I'm most fond of.
Glad you liked the song.
Take care..

Seriously appreciated.
The last song seemed to die quietly, so it's reassuring to see this one better received, and your kind comment has left me insufferable pleased with myself.
Thank you kind sir.

I love taking a stroll through the Hive Open Mic and meeting such talented artists as yourself. It's impossible not to enjoy this cover. I'm not sure I've seen your work before, but it fills me with joy that the community continues to integrate great artists. Your voice is wonderful for this style of music and that it is accompanied with instrumentation is worth gold to me. Bravo and congratulations Maestro!...

I remember us performing that together at the White Horse. Fun times. You do a good job on the video to combine the various parts. I'll have to talk to you about that some time (I keep saying that).

Well played sir!

I seem to recall you made rather a better job of the lead solo bit... lol.

That's debatable. I enjoyed your Erasure track last night. Some rapid strumming going on. I was having some brain fade on lyrics.
