'Hello', by Lionel Richie. Hive Open Mic Week 153

So I hid myself away in a small room with a guitar, laptop and loop pedal..
This week's theme seemed more romantically inclined, so I grabbed the opportunity to dig up this Lionel Richie number.
I did play song this some years ago.
Following a motorcycle accident, I had an arm in plaster for more than eight weeks, and it was a whole bunch more before I could play, once the cast was off.
This was the first song I tackled.
I was drawn in by the fact that I only needed a couple of fingers to play the opening verse.
Played using a BOSS RC30 Loop pedal, which I still don't really know how to use properly.

I've already heard some great tunes on this theme, and look forward to hearing a whole bunch more.

Hi.
It's a Boss RC30 pedal.
I had an old RC20, but unlike the 30 where it's click to record, and then click again to record the next loop, with the 20 the second click sends you into Playback, which does sort of limit you a bit.
'Hello' is the same tune played 3 times, so it leant itself to looping.

I don't do as many loops as I used to.

Ah yes! This is the one I have! I've used it about 4 or 5 times on HIVE so far!

I did start to look for loops, but you are quite right.
Without knowing where to look, I'd have traded my guitar for a harp before I found them...
These are way beyond good!
I'm pretty much restricted to covers, but am in bewildered awe of people who firstly, have the talent to write their own stuff, and secondly, to make that stuff worth listening to more than once.

I really am glad you appreciated it..
It's only my second offering to the Open Mic, but I do hope to make it a regular thing.
Encouragement like this really does motivate me to work at putting the next one together.
I am genuinely impressed though, at the high quality of performances I've seen from so many different places.
This really is the only international language.

I needed lights that sounded a but more butch.
I was planning on Welders arclights but didn't have any to hand.

Lol..
Must admit, it is one I enjoy playing, as long as I don't slip up on the loop.
There has been a time or two where I've had to abandon it half way through, and creatively cut it short.

Must admit, it's a lot easier when you can stop the tape, swear a bit, and start again.
Glad you enjoyed it, but I have to say that if looks could kill, then I'd have at least half a dozen dead loop pedals on my conscience.
