I listened to some Trance back in the days as well, no particular artists though :)

I know Armin, even saw him often and he is considered as a mster of Trance I know, to me he is more EDM, commercial Trance (which is also Trance) but I just mentioned my true Trance favourites but sure he belongs to the good and cool guys here. Even Scooter is known for HP shouting his voice in shit English (not a fan) but the other two guys do really great sounds and without voice it is really cool.

I never really searched for trance, but used to listen to edm and every once in a while some trance appeared in the lists :p
Back in the days, I missed something in Trance which I found more in edm. I don't know what exactly, don't know much about music neither. :p
Yeah - I personally do not like the hard cuts between genre however there are folks that kill me on Reddit when I talk about Techno and they say that is no Techno (in Techno we got I think 10+ different style, Trance similar). I am not that strict I just feel what I think is what but mainly love to listen to music I like no matter where "industry experts" put that in their genre - I also like EDM (haha now i also start to segemnt again lol) -when I started the music community I was doing stuff around explaining certain styles, introducing DJs mainly from Electronic Music as such (apart from my Rock thing) and talking about music scenes around the world. I stopped this after a while though - but still love the topic(s) - and the music from the Benelux is always great to me - love it (even not a Rotterdam Gabba fan).
I completely agree that music isn't about segmenting in categories. There's music of plenty of different styles I enjoy listening to. Although I nearly never 'actively' listen to music though.. 🙈
Good approach buddy - I listen to all kind of - actively in the evening when i try to create sth or make me a joyful sound carpet I am actively targetting certain sounds based on my current mood - often Techno in all its varieties or Rock stuff.
