I hope I can get away with playing them, at least when I'm home alone. There are various options of quiet cymbals and heads of it's a problem. I'm wondering how they can work with the band. Would I drown everyone out?

My Roland is pretty sensitive, but you don't get at that resonance. I'll have to look into how I can record the new kit properly.

I've played a full kit against a piano accompaniment..the piano wasn't amplified...so yeah it can be done, but you have to be able to play with a very light touch and brushes are very useful for that.

I need to try brushes. They don't work on electronic kits

That is so...they just tickle electronic drums rather than making a noise. 😀

I'm going to see if I can check out some low noise cymbals. I wonder if they could still be loud enough for band sessions.

They may well be..I've never used any so I can't advise.

I'll pop into the music shop in Bedford at the weekend to see what they have. There is a lack of actual shops where you can try things out. The Drumeo community can be helpful for hints on gear as they have tried most options between them.
