Good luck with your goals. I know it is not easy to build an online presence when there is so much competition. Hive is a smaller pond, so there is some chance to get big here. It can be hard to get people on board, but it is worth persisting. I know some are fed up with other platforms that just exploit them and Hive offers something different.
When it comes to musicians I think there are a good set around the @risingstargame, so that may be a place to start. I have bought music from lots there. We have to focus the efforts and collaborate to make progress as nobody can do it alone.

The sense of community we have in Hive is a big pro indeed. I've never found an internet space where people are so glad to help and support each other as Hive.
I know some say it's all about rewards, but I get a lot of genuine engagement here. I know there are some usability issues that put people off, but Hive is not so bad really. We have to work on getting more good content (including music) here and promote it as a place to be.
