No rehearsal, no discussion, it’s another one of the songs you’re expected to know, the bass part is not famous, but I like it a lot. I want to play that part and this is one of the songs where I wish we had a specific bass part. Again, the other musicians want the bass to improvise. Just make my bass parts appropriate to the chord changes, mark every 4s, 8s, or 16 measure, and stay out of the singer’s way while simultaneously providing foundational intonation and rhythm.
