These “Jazz Derelicts” like to perform once a month. I don’t mind. I like having time to learn the original bass parts and study the written parts before I get to the gig. It’s all forgiving and I can invent the bass part for a lot of the songs. However, I find it honorable to get as close as possible to the original part.
