FLASHBACK: I Wear Pants For A Big Band Concert

This draft post has been marinating for a year. Last October 2023 was similar to October 2024. I get away with wearing shorts for 95% of the year and then suddenly wear pants for a concert.
I’m pretty sure this is not a double post.

Seems like I’ve been wearing shorts exclusively for a long season. Work and other aspects of my life allow it. Shorts seem inappropriate for a big band performance attire. So, black pants… shoes, not chaunclas/flip-flops.

First, I should mention the rehearsals. Different drummers. Last drummer is now on percussion. Seriously, I’m glad he was playing percussion this semester.

The next day we had a concert and I actually recorded it. I never edited the video because I only managed to record one or two songs. I believe my video production failed me that day. It’s common for me to accidentally turn off the camera after I mount it to the music stand. Someday, capturing video footage will be easy.

Well, scratch that idea. I was gonna put a cool GIF in this spot, but I can’t. There’s a whole area of steps required to get this media posted through Ecency. Not only does it take a long time to scroll through the galleries and figure out if you’re on top or on the bottom, but then it won’t even load. I realize the reason why I have so many draft posts is because adding the images is tedious.

It’s time for every aspect of the image publication process to be better. It’s time for it to be faster. It’s time for it to have dates. It’s time for the gallery button to function properly.

I stopped asking. I simply move their stuff off stage.

Here I am a year later, October 2024. The ugliest thing in the background on stage is my A-frame guitar stand. Normally, I hide it behind the base amp. This time I forgot. At least it’s black and easy to hide.

I usually have a good habit of folding it up and hiding it behind my amp during performances. I rarely have time to set my base down during a performance. If I need to take my base off and set it down it’s either because we’re on a long break or because there’s a big problem And I need both my hands available. Once I’m “locked-in “ and “suited up”, I don’t wanna fuck around. It’s bass time only in those moments.
