Do you like the band Chicago?
I know lots of people that do. Our group does a lot of their songs. This one has a very busy baseline and I listen to the original recorded version and some live versions. The live recordings are very energetic and vary in bass parts. It's wild.
This gives me a little room to flex. Some of my music/charts are vague. Some are guitar charts or label something kind of like, "Rhythm." So, I listen to the original and the live recording on almost anything like this.
As I play this song more I'll probably get closer to the recorded version. the other lead instruments and the rhythm section in the band don't really care too much as long as the rhythm is good and the cords stay correct.
if I didn't know the part I have the cord changes right now or have experience reading pod symbols, this will be difficult. If it was new to me I would keep it real simple. So, as a note to musicians... keep it simple especially when you encounter vague music and new music.
Do i keep it simple? Hmmm...
Thanks for watching and commenting and supporting.
I hope you like all the background/forground blending stuff.
LOTS more video to come.

I like guitar charts ;)
Yeah me too. Like chords/arrangement cheat sheets. Sometimes have a six page bass chart, look over at the guitar and it two pages revealing a song that’s really only a blues is three different keys.
Recently I got a bass chart that was also combined with a tuba part AND the song is a fast tempo. First couple rehearsals I tried to read it and the rest of the band was looking around like someone had dropped a stink bomb. Then, i copied the guitar chart and read it’s chords changes at the next rehearsal. Completely different response even got compliments.
I like the written bass parts. They like it when I make it up. It’s not soloing over the entire song and everyone or anything. No, it jazz bass. 🥸
KISS! :)
Lol, Keep It Super Slapbass, right?
