I want to connect with more of you in the Hive community!
I have been here since July 2016, and over the years I have accumulated over 3k followers.
However, I feel like I barely get any interaction from 99% of you...
Hive to me has always been my favorite social network, and if you go back 6 years to a post that I made called The Future Hive Digital World I talked about how in the future we could build basically what is referred to now as a "Metaverse" where I said this:
The idea that we could all interact socially and virtually without a centralized corporation having access to all of our personal information, and also this sense of bringing original positive creative content to this new community!
I continued to explain how it was possible to create virtual items, which now would be called NFTs, and how it was all possible on the Hive blockchain!
I even talked about creating VR worlds as well, which I know might require a lot more development to create something like "The Oasis" from Ready Player One.
Now keep in mind I wrote all of this years before the film Ready Player One (also I never even heard of the book), and also before Metaverse was even a term that was used, even before NFTs were a thing, and also before Splinterlands first came out.
Back then I remember always posting and begging the community to support more content like:
- Music
- Open Mic
- Art
- Social Media
- Gaming
- Video (Youtube style)
- Live Streaming (Twitch)
- Music hosting (Souncloud)
- And a ton more
But back then most of the content was blogs about just blockchain stuff mainly, and it seemed that everything else was either ignored or non-existent.
Now it did seem to pick up when @guerrint made a $30k Make Up Tutorial which then was followed up by @roelandp creating basically a mock post of this.
I think he did this to show how crazy it was for THAT much of daily rewards going to just a make-up post, and earning that much for really not much value compared to everything else that usually gets little to no support at all.
Eventually things started changing with things like Open Mic, HiveFest, Splinterlands, Dygycon, 3Speak, and even back in the day we had Dtube, Dsound, DLive, Zappl, and many others.
Even @roelandp used my music in the first HiveFest promo video, and also went on to actually create a VR HiveFest years later!
Also Dygycon coming years later was pretty much the main idea of what my post was referring to back in 2016, but sadly events have not been scheduled for the upcoming future, but hopefully we bring it back or something similar for the Hive community!
So basically what I am getting to is that I have never given up on this community, and yes I have felt like a ton of ideas that I posted here (only to go on and make Hive extremely successful) were overlooked and even laughed at when I proposed them years before.
I would like to start connecting with everyone ON here not Twitter or TikTok or other centralized social networks, because that defeats the purpose, and I still feel like everything when it comes to social media CAN and should be done within the Hive ecosystem & all of the dApps that have been created here as well.

I've been a HIVER for two years plus and not missing a day of HIVE activity since February 2021. I'm still a newbie if you compare to folks like you, but it's refreshing to read an OG's take on the past, the present and what I feel will be the inevitable future. I'm guilty of interactive on “HIVE” Twitter, but as LeoThreads grows and the eventual Project Blank comes into play many of us will leave “HIVE” Twitter altogether. I use as many dApps as I can here in the HIVE ecosystem, but I agree just like traditional social media, we could have hundreds, thousands and millions of followers or following but how many do we actually interact with?

Glad to have you here and thank you! I still feel like 2 years is considered earlier since Hive hasn't really hit main stream yet, but in the future we all will be OGs probably around 2025 when blockchain gains more momentum.
