RE: Vibes web3 music competition discontinued due to corruption of the contest. Reminds me a bit of RL.

What kind of win-win are you talking about? What is the point of adding users when most of them just join to extract the prizes right away? It in fact could easily create a net drain of Hive and sell pressure. I lack the IT skills to gain the data, but what I saw from the last winners, most of them have KE ratios of >5. What we need are users that invest not such ones that sell any Hive they get.
So a better marketing would be among the millions of people on YT following the shitcoin advices of some influencers. At least there are potential investors.

True, problem of all bigger giveaways but on the other side it creates engagement, success stories and word of mouth advertising also outside Hive but of course Hive needs investors first and foremost. I agree on that, focus should be on investors not just content creators, ideally both. Selling rewards shouldn't be a problem, too high inflation is the problem (in a bear market), due to hbd conversions, 15% apr on hbd and ineffective dhf spending. Also conflict of interest, if projects are paid in hbd, the goal is to hold the peg and payouts by constantly increasing the debt limit, if projects were paid in hive, the goal would be to increase hive in value. Alignment of goals. Don't you see any value in giveaways or contests, aren't you also organizing one?

In 9 years of success stories and word of mouth advertising Hive is where it is right now. Maybe time for a different approach.

The chess tournaments don´t require a jury, but who wins follows transparent rules. True, there are prizes involved as well, but we hardly get any whale votes, compared to the votes for Vibes. It is in a different league :)
Therefore I also don´t claim to make a significant difference. If we would have some valueplan-like funding, maybe we also could attract higher-ranked players, but again, probably most of them would sell as well.
