Los Amigos Invisibles: A Venezuelan band that mixes genres and brings the party

Talking about Los Amigos Invisibles is talking about "Gozadera" and is synonymous with Venezuelanness. It is a bit complicated to bring together or label this band in a single musical genre, as they stand out for being very versatile in their musical proposal. Perhaps it could be classified as a Funk Rock (Tropical) band, but staying with that label would be an injustice to their musical catalog, since, for example, one of their greatest successes historically is a song that could be classified as a Techno Merengue and I am referring to "Ponerte en cuatro". Ponerte en Cuatro but this is only a small sample of the versatility of which I have already spoken. We can also find songs like "Playa Azul" which could be classified as a kind of bossa-nova fusion. In the same way, I leave you here the link to their official video on YouTube Playa Azul song that by the way I could consider as one of my favorites of the band, the list of songs that I could bring and go breaking down their genera is really long.

I tell you a secret, I am 34 years old and Los Amigos Invisibles as a band have 33 years since their foundation, I could say that clearly they have been a very important part of my life in a certain sense they have always accompanied me, originally it was a band composed of 6 musicians and over time either by wear or by the end of completed cycles the band has had its changes, today only 3 official members of the original lineup remain but in live performances only 2 of them remain touring and the rest have been musicians who have come to recruit but have been able to maintain the essence of what Los Amigos Invisibles are.

At the level of projection Los Amigos Invisibles are today one of the most recognized and experienced Venezuelan bands at the international level. I do not have the precise information, but I can say that I have seen flyers of festivals in Australia and there Los Amigos Invisibles are listed, in the United States they are generally on tour and in Europe they are notably known.

In particular, I have the pleasure of knowing them in person and even of having shared moments with them, because I must also say in honor of the truth that they are excellent people, I share some photos (a little old, in recent years I have not had the opportunity to see them again)

As I already mentioned, they have been an important part of my life and I could say that thanks to their influence I have had jobs related to the world of music. Thanks to them I was able to know musical genres that are not normally heard in the normal world and with that open myself up to new cultures, new groups and musical styles that I listen to and enjoy to this day.

To get to know Los Amigos Invisibles, I would recommend listening to one of their early works, such as "The New Sound of the Venezuelan Gozadera". I think this song represents them very well, as it is a fun song with a strong sense of comedy. The video represents what I have highlighted from the beginning, that is, the "Gozadera". There are still Los Amigos Invisibles for a while. I wish they could come to Venezuela more often so I could enjoy their live shows, which are by the way on another level. The last one I could enjoy was in July of last year (2023) at the Movistar micro festival held in Caracas at the venue "La Concha Acustica de Bello Monte" where they shared the stage with groups like Anakena and Los Motherflowers and what I can tell you is that the vibe, the energy, the sound is intact. The quality of their music and live performance is of a very high level, perhaps that is why they have had the sustained success they have had for so many years.

I have nothing more to say than to enjoy life accompanied by good music, music that brings joy to your soul, makes you dance, and takes you to feelings of happiness.
