Whitesnake is a metal band that formed in London, England in the late 1970s and took the Metal world by storm. The band still performs to this day, and is on a tour that began in 2022 and a farewell album and Tori are being contemplated. The band underwent many changes, but Coverdale has been with the band since it's inception and continues to carry the band. Whitesnake's music can still be heard today, and I love the songs "Here I go Again" and "Ain't no Love in the Heart of the City". The band is decidedly English, and Iron Maiden also arose on the Metal scene at this time in the same region. Metal was a worldwide phenomenon, with many upstarts in Europe.
Whitesnake's most famous songs include "Here I go Again" and "Ain't no Love in the Heart of the City" and the band has released a line of commerically successful rock albums over it's four decades of operation. The band is decidedly "glam" Metal, and their performances and conduct fit in well during the heydey of Heavy Metal in the late 1980s. While Metal bands including Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and The Scorpions played on the airwaves and in concert, Whitesnake emerged and thrived from the attention of fan cross pollination and MTV exposure. One could make the case that MTV exposure helped Metal to explode on the world scene, and that in turn MTV was also nurtured by the rise of Metal.
