Legendary Rock Songs: DON´T CALL ME WHITE: NOFX.
Theme:DON´T CALL ME WHITE.
Disc:Punk In Drublic.
Year:1994.
The maximum expression of melodic hardcore and the instantaneous pildoraza, a verse and a poppie chorus, a droning drums and guitars repeating chords to exhaustion at maximum speed and distortion. NOFX never reached the popularity of Green Day or their former label mates, Offspring, but they have always been one of the flagship bands of the style, less accessible to the general public precisely because they are more akin to the wild and unbridled tendencies of punk.
Fat Mike and his band unloads without hesitation, and they stay so at ease. “Don't Call Me White” is one of those songs that make the pogos at the concerts something dangerous, a place where survival is won by funny blows. A brave plea approached from the less usual side of racist demonstrations.
An invitation to spasmodic movement, to dance uncontrollably, to the “up and down” of the neck until the muscles burst. And if that wasn't enough, it has enough melodic accent to be easily sung if you can get the air in your lungs between so much jumping and shaking. A real energy blast.
