Legendary Rock Songs: DAVIDIAN: MACHINE HEAD.
Thema:DAVIDIAN.
Disc:Burn My Eyes.
Year:1994.
Robb Flynn knew what he was playing for. He waited for the right moment for “Burn My Eyes” to make Machine Head known around the world and become one of the most impactful debuts in modern metal. They were the perfect bridge between the old Bay Area thrash conceptions, the anchored parameters of hardcore, and the revitalized blistering sound Pantera had put on the map.
Unmitigated intensity and untamed aggression from the hand of Flynn and Logan Mader's sharp riffs, disturbing as the noise of the saw cutting through sheet metal, and an overwhelming condensation of rhythmic energy. “Davidian” opened the plastic with wood to last, a blast that gave a new coat of paint to the thrash with its forcefulness and its attractive but incisive screaming melody, taking the juice out of a brutal set.
They could play with the same cards as Pantera, Sepultura or Slayer, and that is something that very few can boast. But Flynn and his boys could, and only for that beginning of boiling guitars and abrasive voice they were dizzy to be among the greats of modern metal. Their power would fade over the years due to dark habits and internalized personal demons and it would take God and help to recover it. But all those who made “Burn My Eyes” the Roadrunner label's best selling album at the time were confident that they would return to the crushing rage of this “Davidian” which is impossible to overlook in order to understand the future of the purest and most violent musical extremism.
I hope you like this editorial work and see you in a future post with more of these great bands and their legendary songs.
Very good your presentation of this legendary heavy rock band, and of that powerful piece of music. Greetings, @spliddash.
