What comes to.your mind hearing the sounds of music of now as opposed to the sounds of the 1980's music?

The world is ever changing and many old things are facing off the earth's surface... It's obviously expected that a better version of the world comes out but then, in some areas, it becomes a downhill rather.

One of those areas in my country is the Musical Area

When I say Music, I definitely don't mean the better sounds the modern music comes out with but, I mean the lyrics of the musics.

Back in the days, we had musicians like Patty Obasi, Osadebe, Oliver D'Couque, Fela Kuti, Edris Abdulkareem and many more...

These were musicians who were out to give us meaningful musical lyrics...

Musicians spoke to the government through songs and told wonderful tales that keeps children glued on their seat listening while waiting for what will happen at the end making them pick up good morales subconsciously.

But what do we have today?

It's all about singing about one beautiful Onyinye or beautiful Adaobi....
Literally most of the songs in this era in my country has to do with a woman did this or did that.

Tilting a little bit from singing about women, they land in money.

Now, they have a lot of songs talking about cybercrime, you might think they're talking against it but nah! They are talking and singing people into it.
It's all about making money and no one cares how you made it just like when Bella Shmurda & Zlatan x Lincoln will say in Cash App Song;

You get sure client, lock am
If e no get money, leave am

What a low we're hitting in our musical lyrics... Too bad.

Nevertheless, I will never say it's all negative with the new music we have now even though the lyrics aren't great.
There are;

• Better Video Quality:

Even though the videos of our musics nowadays literally has nothing good to offer except displaying nudity, I will still appreciate how great the quality has evolved over the years from a black and white colored video to a video that's looking almost better than the physical view of seeing the musical shoots.

• Better Sound Quality/ instrumentals

In this era, there are literally studios everywhere with great musical instruments available.
So to say that the song produced in an average studio is very much better than the song produced in the 1980's best studio.
It's a welcomed development I guess.

• Globalization is easier now (Steaming Apps et all)

Back in the days, it will take an extraordinary effort for a musician to take his songs across the globe because there were no better networking.
Today, an ordinary freestyle by an upcoming artist can reach the ends of earth because of different streaming applications and websites you can download these songs from.

Generally with the technological advancements in our musical aspect in my country, we are trying but it's just stepping up on the lyrics to convey more meanings.

Note: We have really few cool musicians that are still ticking the boxes in all areas including good lyrics in my country, I wrote on the bad eggs in the industry because the prompt ignited my anger for them and I had to pour it all out, hehehe.
