Playing Piano...Someday, I'll learn it....

Ever since my eardrums opened and my ear canals and other auditory organs became functional, the trajected sounds that passed through there from the clapping of hands and vocals of my mum made me smile more than tickling me did.

This rapidly transcended to the sounds of musics when my cognitive functions got better and ever since then, I became a lover of music.

Not long after then when I could carry my hands, I saw myself drumming at the church masses for the choir.... The funniest part of it was that I didn't get to learn it for long , I just came around and picked interest and next was me performing already.

It's no news our environment plays a great role in influencing us, hence, the upgrading of musical instruments which brought in keyboard, piano, bands, saxophone, guitar and others gradually made me fall in love with piano.
Not that I still don't love playing drums but then, Piano took the greater part of my heart, hehe.

Most times in life, it's all about the choices we make and still the willingness to see it through till the very end... It's not always easy indeed but then it's always doable with dedication.

Not developing some of our hobbies most times is where most of our regrets in life comes from because for our main dreams, we keep pushing till the very end..."I'll believe".

Piano isn't an instrument easy to buy as it's costly so what I had In mind was learning it from the church but then I was in school and we didn't have it at school.

It's been an interchange of school, giving my best to pass my exam and the coming of another exam with little or no break in between and this made me to automatically keep postponing my hunger to be a Pianist.

Finally, the Covid pandemic break came and invariably offered me "free periods". After a while when the victims and spread seems to be reducing and businesses began to reopen, I immediately rushed and paid 10, 000Naira (~12$) to a music school so I could learn it but something else happened.

It was as if the school authorities were waiting for me to make that payment and shortly after I did, they relayed a message to us via our classrep saying we should get ready for our 2nd professional exam because they will be going to get a waiver from the Federal Government so we could come back and write the exam.

Hearing these words, I had no other option other than going back to my shell in reading and preparing for the exam.
The painful part of this story remains that they never got any waiver and we didn't even write the exam that month but then the phobia of failing never allowed me to go for what I already paid for.

Borrowing the words of Kurt Vonnegut,

It might have been me sending down wonderful strings of musical notes down my auditory canal....

It saddens me but then there is no room for regrets because there's life and once there is life and my inner desire to play the piano keeps burning, someday, I will Learn it.
