Redesigning a new card (Fanart) [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends, hello RisingStar community, how is the sound this week, I hope you are having a nice day and above all full of music, today we return to drawing, rather to redesigning cards from the game, but in my own style, so we will give them a touch somewhat more modern and cartoon, today unlike other occasions we will select a Common card, because being a common card does not make it less important.

Hola amigos, hola comunidad de RisingStar, cómo va el sonido esta semana, espero que estén teniendo un lindo día y sobre todo lleno de música, hoy regresamos a dibujar, más bien a rediseñar cartas del juego, pero en mi propio estilo, así que les daremos un toque algo más moderno y cartoon, hoy a diferencia de otras ocasiones seleccionaremos una carta Común, porque que una carta sea común no la hace menos importante.

As you can see I respected from the original card not only the microphone as the protagonist but also the blue color, refining the design in cartoon style and giving it that metallic and shiny touch with which I am redesigning all the cards, I adjusted the texts of the card to the new format, I would also like to show you little by little the creation process of this new card, so if we are ready let’s start drawing.

Como ven respeté de la carta original no solo el micrófono como protagonista sino también el color azul, refinando el diseño al estilo cartoon y dándole ese toque metalizado y brillante con el que estoy rediseñando todas las cartas, ajusté los textos de la carta al nuevo formato, me gustaría también mostrarles poco a poco el proceso de creación de esta nueva carta, así que si estamos listos comenzamos a dibujar.

If you remember with my first redesign we created the frame for what would be the new cards, so we started right there with the frame that will serve as a reference for the composition of the new card.

Si recuerdan, con mi primer rediseño creamos el marco para lo que serían las nuevas cartas, pues comenzamos justo ahí con el marco que servirá de referencia a la composición de la nueva carta.

Since I’m using Paint as a drawing application, I can easily place the texts from within the same app, but they won’t be my final texts, they’ll serve as a kind of guide to create both the card and the handwritten texts, I’ll also modify a few letters so they better match my style, this is how the card is taking shape, now with the texts in their corresponding places.

Como estoy usando Paint como aplicación de dibujo, podré colocar fácilmente los textos desde la misma aplicación, pero no serán mis textos definitivos, me funcionarán como una especie de guía para realizar tanto la carta como los textos a mano, también modificaré algunas pocas letras para que se ajusten más a mi estilo, así fue quedando la carta ya con los textos en los lugares correspondientes.

Next I drew the protagonist of the card, the microphone that the DJ will use to liven up the parties while the music keeps playing, I used a real microphone as reference for this one and tried to capture all the details.

Lo siguiente fue dibujar al protagonista de la carta, el micrófono que usará el DJ para animar las fiestas mientras la música no deja de sonar, utilicé un micrófono real como referencia para este micrófono y traté de capturar todos los detalles.

This will be our sketch, so the next step will be to lower the opacity to start drawing the lines, as I mentioned the last time I redesigned a card I will not use rulers, I don’t want perfect lines, I want my pulse to be noticeable in every stroke, with that and the default brush at 1.8 px I begin to trace the line art of my card using the sketch made up to this point as reference.

Este será nuestro boceto, así que el siguiente paso será bajar la opacidad para comenzar a dibujar las líneas, como comenté la vez anterior que rediseñé una carta no usaré reglas, no quiero líneas perfectas, quiero que se note mi pulso en cada trazo, con eso y el pincel por defecto en 1.8 px comienzo a trazar el line art de mi carta usando como referencia el boceto hecho hasta el momento.

The first thing I traced were the letters and the microphone, as well as the square delimiter of the subject of the card, I am using this style where the subject goes out of the borders for all the cards I will draw.

Lo primero que tracé fueron las letras y el micrófono, así como el delimitador cuadrado del sujeto de la carta, estoy usando este estilo donde el sujeto se sale de los bordes para todas las cartas que dibujaré.

There is all the line art of the card over the sketch, the next step will be to remove the guide layer and correct some lines.

Ahí quedó todo el line art de la carta sobre el boceto, el siguiente paso será eliminar la capa de guía y corregir algunas líneas.

With all the line art clean and ready we begin to color.

Con todo el line art limpio y listo comenzamos a colorear.

The first thing I colored was the microphone, in black with blue details as in the original card, I also added the two LED indicators in red and green as in my reference, for the coloring style I am using a mix between realism and cartoon with details of lights and shadows, in this particular case I used a blue bounce light because I plan for the card to be metallic blue.

Lo primero que coloreé fue el micrófono, de negro con detalles en azul como en la carta original, además le hice los dos indicadores LED en rojo y verde como mi referencia, para el estilo de coloreado estoy usando una mezcla entre realismo y cartoon con detalles de luces y sombras, en este caso en particular usé una luz de rebote en azul porque planeo que la carta sea azul metalizada.

The container of the subject will be completely black, although I added a white light to create a bit of depth in the card and to separate the subject from the background, the border was bright blue with light reflections and shine.

El contenedor del sujeto será completamente negro, aunque le agregué una luz blanca para crear un poco de profundidad en la carta y separar al sujeto del fondo, el borde fue de azul brillante con reflejos de luz y brillo.

The rest of the card, as I had planned, was in blue, although I created curved and organic patterns in different tones, I also added highlights and reflections, for the upper text I did the same, but for the identifier of the Common type what I did was make it silver, because I imagine the rarity scales in a range from golden to bronze.

El resto de la carta, como tenía planeado, fue en azul, aunque le creé patrones curvos y orgánicos en distintos tonos, le agregué brillos y reflejos también, para el texto superior hice lo mismo, pero para el identificador del tipo Común lo que hice fue hacerlo en plateado, porque me imagino las escalas de rareza en una escala de dorado a bronceado.
