I285 Rhythm Sticks FanArt [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends and Rising Star Game community, what a joy to return with a new fan art this week. This time we are redesigning cards, specifically card I285, which in its drawing shows rhythm sticks, an instrument I didn’t know and that caught my attention. They are two wooden sticks that can be smooth or textured, and are struck against each other to produce different sounds and mark different rhythms. Honestly, I didn’t know this instrument, although I think its existence is very logical. I didn’t like the original design of the card very much, so let’s see if we can give it a more fun touch.

Hola amigos y comunidad de Rising Star Game, qué alegría regresar con un nuevo fan art esta semana. Esta vez volvemos a rediseñar cartas, específicamente la carta I285, que en su dibujo muestra unos palillos de ritmo (Rhythm Sticks), un instrumento que no conocía y que me llamó mucho la atención. Se trata de dos barras de madera que pueden ser lisas o con textura y se golpean entre ellas para producir distintos sonidos y marcar diferentes ritmos. La verdad no conocía este instrumento, aunque creo que su existencia es muy lógica. El diseño original de la carta no me gustaba mucho, así que vamos a ver si le podemos dar un toque más divertido.

This was the final result that I share with you of my redesign of the card. I kept elements such as the alphanumeric identifier, the name, and the property Luck with value 1, but I changed both the design and the position of the sticks. I kept the blue color but added some gradients and waves, as well as its identifier as a Common card.

Este fue el resultado final que les comparto de mi rediseño de la carta. Mantuve cosas como el identificador alfanumérico, el nombre y la propiedad Luck con valor 1, pero cambié tanto el diseño como la posición de los palillos. Mantuve el color azul pero agregué algunos degradados y ondas, además de su identificador como carta Común.

Rising Star Game

I share with you this small animation in GIF format showing the step-by-step of my drawing: from the sketch, the line art, the coloring, to the background and details. I hope you enjoy it.

As you can see, I started drawing using the blank card we created as a base, since I want all the cards I redesign to look like they belong to the same deck and share a common style.

Como pueden ver, comencé a dibujar usando de base la carta en blanco que dibujamos, ya que quiero que todas las cartas que rediseñe parezcan que pertenecen a un mismo mazo y tengan un estilo en común.

The next step was to draw the instrument. Since I didn’t know its shape well, I searched for different images of the instrument in various positions. That’s when I learned that this instrument has many variant forms and sizes.

El siguiente paso fue dibujar el instrumento. Como no conocía bien la forma, busqué distintas imágenes del instrumento en diferentes posiciones. Ahí aprendí que este instrumento tiene muchas formas variantes y tamaños.

I also added the textual identifiers that mark the card.

Agregué también los identificadores textuales que identifican a la carta.

For the line art I simply followed the sketch and used a default brush from IbisPaint. It was very simple since I already knew the approximate thickness to use.

Para el line art simplemente me guié por el boceto y utilicé un pincel por defecto de IbisPaint. Fue muy simple ya que sabía hasta qué grosor aproximado usar.

With all the line art completed, we simply removed the visibility of the sketch and kept the lines that we will use for coloring.

Con todo el line art realizado, simplemente le quitamos la visibilidad al boceto y nos quedamos con las líneas que utilizaremos para colorear.

My instrument will be made of wood and will have a wooden texture through lines on the surface.

Mi instrumento será de madera y tendrá la textura de madera a través de líneas en la superficie.
