How High Can I Glow in the Dark is a song about finding light when everything familiar goes out.

The video takes place in a large warehouse-style art studio apartment during a storm. The power is out. Lightning flashes through the windows. Candles become the only source of light. Paint covers the space, the floors, the furniture, the couch, a living, breathing record of every emotion that’s already passed through the room.

She moves through the darkness gathering paint, pouring it into a white bucket, throwing it onto a blank canvas, spreading it with her hands. Eventually she sinks to the floor, covered in color, exhausted, vulnerable. Her face is painted in my familiar fragmented style, a visual language I return to when I’m expressing being broken open and still alive.

Then the transformation begins.

The paint explodes into color. It wraps around her, pours through her, lifts her. She becomes something else entirely, a living expression of color, light, and creation. A reminder that even in the dark, something inside us still glows.

This song comes from a period of deep emotional transition in my life, letting go of what no longer fits, sitting in uncertainty, and asking an honest question:
How high can I glow in the dark before I’m afraid to be seen?

I created this project independently from start to finish.

There is an earlier demo version of this song using a free-use instrumental. This release is the final, fully realized original version, the finished song and video as they were meant to exist.

This isn’t about escaping the darkness.
It’s about discovering what shines because of it.
