HIVE OPEN MIC #203— Say Something cover by Soniadee

Hello everyone, this is my first time in this community. My name is Adesuwa Ogiesoba with Username, soniadee. I am excited to be a part of Hive Open Mic community and here is my entry for week 203.

The theme for this week is “MEMORIES” I did a cover of “say something “ by A great big world which was released in 2014

This song has been stuck in my head lately, it brings back so many memories of my past relationship. As this week's theme is "MEMORIES" I can't help but reflect on the rollercoaster of emotions I experienced when my ex-partner left Nigeria to pursue his education in the United States. While it was heartbreaking to see him go, I knew it was for his own good and I tried to be patient and wait for him.

Unfortunately, after two years of waiting, I realized that things weren't going to work out between us. I decided to have an honest conversation with him to clarify where we stood, and his response was not what I was hoping for. It was tough to come to terms with the fact that we weren't going to be together, but in hindsight, I'm grateful for his decision. It allowed me to move on and eventually find someone who is truly meant for me.

Now, I'm engaged to a loving and intentional partner who makes me incredibly happy. While it's always hard to see a relationship end, I've learned that sometimes it's for the best. I'm grateful for the memories of my past relationship, but I'm even more excited for the future with my fiancé.

Listening to this song I have had to go down memory lane, remembering all the challenges I had to go through in my previous relationships and thinking about it now it wasn’t a good experience.

Say Something is an emotional song that tells a story of heartbreak. It tells the story of two lovers leaving a failed relationship despite the fact that there is still love among them, beseeching the lover to say something because the other party is giving up on the relationship. The singer sang the song with so much emotions buckled inside of him.

This is a wonderful song and I hope you all can learn a thing or two from listening to it.
